Almost, But Not Quite

LGBT

I would feel sad for Sandy Rios’ inability to engage the guests and audience of The Tyra Banks Show in what she considers “meaningful” debate about homosexuality if she hadn’t been on the fucking Tyra Banks Show.

I like how his opponent is a “large white lesbian” while his ally gets a name, “Karen” and is described as “plump” and “sweet”.

Right.  The problem isn’t bigotry - it’s the tone of the conversation.  Tea and crumpets with your oppressor sounds like a hella good time.  Put a smile on your face when you’re being discriminated against; if you don’t, YOU’RE the one with the problem!

“But what you won’t see is the hatred and anger regularly doled out by homosexual activists on people who oppose their view—especially people of faith.”

The poor dear. All she was trying to say was how she would be more comfortable if homosexuals would just deny who they are and either enter into a loveless marriage with some of the opposite sex or settle for lifelong celibacy.
Is that really asking for so much?

Am I angry with—do I hate—people who don’t think I’m entitled to the same rights as any other American citizen, bcause my spouse of 19 years is a man?  Damn straight!

Gays have every right to be angry.  If I forced their church to accept atheists as preachers, they’d get angry too.

Hurting someone less powerful than you isn’t hate.  Refusing to be docile while being attacked is.  Why does that dynamic sound so familiar?

Tyra Banks is afraid of dolphins. She publicly admitted this.

Gosh, that poor mother so broken.  If she wasn’t a giant homophobe, it’s worth noting, she wouldn’t be sad to see her daughter marry a woman.  I’m routinely amazed at conservatives who are willing to use homophobia as evidence that being gay is bad for you.  That’s like telling someone not to be female because of sexism.

As an aside, it’s been marvelous fun trolling the comments there and challenging their guilt of anal sex.

that was filthy.

i had to stop reading the comments. hell, i almost had to stop reading the column!

i swear, the homobigots are becoming more vitrolic, more hateful and more STUPID with every fucking passing day. i mean, someone pulled out the story of Sodom and Lot, not understanding that a mob of men had come to get rid of the stangers(the angels) because they were xenophobic, and Lot offered a MOB of men his TWO VIRGIN DAUGHTERS TO RAPE if they would just go away and leave him alone. that’s a GREAT story to pass along, and really shows how the Bible is against homosexuals. because… i don’t know, really, it has nothing to do with homosexuals. or at least it didn’t until it was distorted by homophobic xenophobic morons.

i fucking hate people.

You’re in good company - so did Jean Paul Sartre
“Hell is other people.”

Which will be the quote on my tombstone.

“i mean, someone pulled out the story of Sodom and Lot,”
Not to mention that the Bible specifically states the crime of Sodom was inhospitality and the like…

Comment #13: denelian  on  02/08  at  12:07 AM

What. i can’t type; that should read “What it says”

sigh. see, i get excitable…

I love the idea of someone going on the Tyra Banks show and complaining about “the tone.”  That’s like going on Springer to have your Klan wedding, then lamenting, “but there were just so many freaks.”
