Factcheck 3000

I really do appreciate Confederate Yankee’s continual dedication to the truth in face of his own ideological convi…convi…

...Okay, really, this is all horseshit.

Most debunkings tend to follow a given pattern, in some way shape or form.  You lay out the charge, who’s making the charge, their evidence, and then proceed to fact check it.  What you tend not to do is lay out the charge, talk about how great you are for looking at it, and then proceed to halfheartedly meander through to the conclusion that it might not be true based on the evidence presented, potentially, maybe, but really even if the charges are valid (which I’m not saying they are…or aren’t), they’re just irrelevant.  But still maybe true.  You’re so brave.  Can I touch you?

I’m only going to say this 385 times, and then stop: you should really not give a fuck, and please pass this along to the folks at Lawyers, Guns and Money.

J.,

Isn’t this sort of preemptive back-slapping, self-important triumphalism what the winger blogosphere is founded on?

Norbizness, this is more Sadly, No!‘s turf, isn’t it?

Dudes like YIDOT are so fucking sad; they’re like a band that had its last hit 10 years ago, still working the club circuit, hoping that one day they’ll be relevant again.  The wingnuts got lucky with the Shrub TANG thing being hyped and they want that same rush again.

What do you expect from someone who takes pride in “treason in defense of slavery”?

Nah, didn’t you get the memo? The Civil War was all about states’ rights. Or incompatible economies. Or something.
