Next entry: But, Bob Casey! Previous entry: I Has Tough Questions Too!

Above The Fray

Glenn Reynolds links to Dan Riehl sharing an utter distaste over the unsubstantiated and likely bogus rumors of Barack Obama having an affair.

Of course, the smarter thing to do would be not to have amplified a rumor for which there’s no support, particularly when the theory behind the lack of evidence for said rumor is, and I quote, “If they (the media) wait, however, and break the story of Obama’s alleged affair after he becomes President-Elect (and yes, they’re confident they can still help make that happen), them they have Obama the Elected to rape on page one and broadcasts and talk shows for months upon end.”

In case you didn’t pick up on that, the pro-Obama media is waiting to release a credibility-destroying revelation about Barack Obama, their chosen messiah and leader, so that they can spend the next four years raping him super hard.  Because of the liberal rape bias.

I remember the good old days when wingnuts had to at least use two full sentences before their logic broke down into a puddle of tears and Yoo-Hoo.  Thanks for not spreading that rumor, Glenn.  You’re a champ.

“Give me names, times and dates - because the media can’t ignore those. But rank speculation and disguised voices ain’t cuttting it with me. All you are doing is pushing slander without either the courage, or wisdom to back it up. And if you can’t back it up, shut it down.”

...and there in a nutshell is the difference between the MSM and the proud wingnut bloggers: The wingnuts would never, ever, push slander without backing it up without the highest levels of incontrovertible proof.

Now let’s get back to our discussion of whether B. HUSSEIN Obama’s fake birth certificate proves he was actually born in Indonesia or Kenya, and whether he’s more beholden to Islamofascism or Marxism…

They can’t resist the Soul on Ice narrative. Can’t do it.

Not spreading a rumor?  Hell, that’s instadork’s only game.  It’s always been his only game.

Comment #3: ice weasel  on  10/26  at  10:59 AM

Can we not use the word rape to describe this?  Just sayin’.  Kind of offensive to those who actually have been raped.

Comment #4: Susanne  on  10/26  at  11:33 AM

Susanne, that’s the point.

I picked up on that Jesse, but it may be that I’ve become accustomed to your style, or that I was reading without having a trigger. Hmmm. This isn’t the only time you repeat an incredibly offensive phrasing, even exaggerating it, to make sure no one misses the offensiveness. (And it’s also offensive on a racial level, I think, because rape accusations against blacks has been used to foment fear and hate against them, while at the same time, they are often victimized).
I don’t know if there’s a way to protect people from trauma triggers without altering Jesse’s style, and it is effective overall, I think. Maybe a little warning up at the top if rape, child abuse, domestic violence, or something else that might leave PSTD is in the post?
Not that Susanne said it hit her that way, but I do know some people are still recovering.

Well, it’s good to see Pandagon taking the lead in NOT spreading unfounded rumors about Reynolds having sordid gay affairs with a variety of barnyard animals.

Because that would be ..mmm…what’s the phrase I’m looking for?
wrong? No
inaccurate? not quite it…
beneath the exalted dignity of a major blog that dominates all beneath it? BINGO!

Okay, consider the rumors not spread.

I’m sorry, wasn’t there supposed to be an “October surprise” of Michelle Obama screaming to kill all white folks or something?  I guess they couldn’t find someone to credibly play her doing so in a low quality video so now they need to redirect us to Obama as some over-sexed, tom-catting, negro. . .think they’ll insinuate he’s stealing all the white wimmin from good, white christian men?

Jeebus!

did y’all miss that the rape bit was a DIRECT QUOTE of someone who is not jesse?

Comment #9: chibi  on  10/26  at  05:32 PM

Oh please. It was an open secret that George H.W. Bush had a girlfriend for years. No one of consequence printed it because they judged, correctly, that it had nothing to do with the price of potatoes.

Comment #10: Bitter Scribe  on  10/26  at  06:13 PM

Also, considerting what a madly hot babe Michelle Obama is, why would Barack need to go elsewhere?

Anybody watching Barack and Michelle together in public can see that he’s hopelessly in love with her. Not to mention that he’s far too self-disciplined to do something so stupid. Affair my ass.

Dudes, look at the quotation marks PLEASE - Jesse was quoting an offensive passage from Confederate Jerkoff that contained the word rape.

The main reason they don’t want to bring this up is, and we all know it, John McCain’s behavior in the sordid affair department.  Cheated on his long-suffering first wife with Cindy.  Cheated on Cindy with who knows whom.  There are enough skeletons in McCain’s closet here to hold a Halloween celebration, and he knows it.  Better to let second-rate bloggers blather.

Haven’t they been flogging this “Mistress sent to Martinique by Michelle” crapola already?

Like all Wingnut Revelations of late, this one isn’t new or news or true.  Doesn’t stop them from repeating them in hope that they become true, but whatever.

Comment #14: Ms Kate  on  10/26  at  11:56 PM

The steaming, burning heap of bullshit in a Wingnut Shell

Comment #15: Ms Kate  on  10/27  at  12:00 AM

The Vera Baker story as told by the UK Daily Mail.  The paper actually sent people to talk to her about her departure to Martinique, where she actually went for a job and a change of scenery when the 2004 campaign was over!

Imagine that!
