Next entry: Banks are vampires Previous entry: Like it or not, flu shots work

Because hard work deserves this reward

If you haven’t seen the original in a long time, it’s worth watching before this mash-up, to really appreciate how note for note it is:

Anyone been watching Caprica?

I’ve been really really loving Caprica.  I wasn’t really in a position to appreciate the last season of BSG, so I’d totally forgotten why I liked it.  Caprica is reminding me.

because i’m just that sort of geek, i opened 2 windows side by side and played them simultaneously, with the sound synchronized.  they really did match up almost seamlessly shot for shot.  impressive work.

This is truly my favorite blog of all time.

Of the Avatars in Caprica I keep trying to figure out who later goes on to be Starbuck, if any of them.  The old centurians are way cuter, they sort of remind me of a goofy dog.

I had a total geekasm.  At work.  Damn.  You.

I’ve been watching Caprica (ahem) religiously.  The episode on the week before last was fantastic, this last week’s was ok.  So far it’s obscurity has kept the cultural pearl-clutching matrons from tut-tutting, but Moore and Eick have turned the dial up to 11 on both the drama and their cultural reflections.  My wife and I have running bet as to which will first catch crap - Sam the married gay blood-letting mobster Tauron (wife) or Sister Clarice the priestess headmistress secretly monotheistic drug addict in the 7 way group marriage with a bed big enough to shag one and all (me).

#7: Okay, I’d been putting off watching Caprica until I finished watching the old BSG (zomg the plot holes, the plot holes, they burnnn), but now I might have to go watch it like right now. o.O

Damn, I miss that show!  I haven’t been watching Caprica, fearing I’d just be disappointed by wanting it to be Galactica, but maybe I should give it a shot.

A few observations….

1) That is one impressively obsessive bit of mash-up geekery!  Impressive work. And a reminder of how good the Beasties were/are, too!

2) Caprica is really worth watching (and I agree with idiosyncratic that the best episode so far was the week before last).  It’s trying (and succeeding) at being very different in tone from BSG (that was military sf, this is Dynasty-in-space). Yet it’s compelling in some of the same ways that BSG was.  It’s not (yet) as good as BSG was at its best.  But it’s already a good deal better than BSG at its worst (which was still pretty good, imo).

3) Miles Kurosky just released his first solo album….and it’s very good! This has nothing whatsoever to do with this thread, but it warms the cockles of this Beulah fan’s heart.

I like this one better, prominently featuring the reason the Original Trilogy didn’t suck: The Solo! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rer-B4g6TPc

No Caprica for me. I still haven’t forgiven them for the wall-bangtastic finale of BSG.

Sarcastro:  Give Caprica a chance it is one of those shows that at the end you can’t believe a whole hour has passed.

I’m an old cranky SF fan who didn’t watch Galactica because I’d given up on TV. But this is BRILLIANT and I’m gonna watch BSG now. Because the Beasties wanted me to.

I used to play Sabotage on my pirate radio show. A lot.
