Disgusting bunch of wankers. No wonder they’re the only people with an approvale rating lower than bush and cheney.

“No wonder they’re the only people with an approvale rating lower than bush and cheney.”

...and to their credit, neither Cheney nor Bush even pretend to be anything more than craven operators.  The congressional Democrats are theoretically on our side.  But when it comes right down to it, they’re usually just as scummy as their Reichwing buddies across the aisle.

Assholes…

And notice that Obama not only hasn’t said a word against this new destruction of FISA (maybe he still will, but he’s waited until after the point that a statement from him would have made a difference), he just recorded an ad supporting one of the worse Bush-supporters in the Democratic party—even though there’s a genuine liberal running for that office.

To call Obama’s campaign and register your displeasure, please call his campaign’s phone number: (866) 675-2008 (dial 6 on the menu). The campaign worker I spoke to made the excuse that Obama was a co-sponsor of Dodd’s bill protecting FISA months ago. That’s great—but Obama wasn’t the de facto leader of the Democratic Party back then. He is now, and he’s acting with cowardice instead of conviction.

I’ve written to my congressman, both my senators, and Obama to let them know that I will be PISSED if this bill passes.  Hopefully that will help—some people who’ve been calling those offices say it sounds like they’re getting a lot of calls about this.

he just recorded an ad supporting one of the worse Bush-supporters in the Democratic party—even though there’s a genuine liberal running for that office.

I will offer this slight—very slight—defense of that support:  John Barrow was one of the superdelagates who threw his support to Obama right before his state’s primary.  So it’s more likely a quid pro quo than an expression of how far to the right Obama will go.  I hope.

I am both outraged and scared.

What’s funny is, even if this law passes the Senate and is signed into law, I have a feeling it will still end up in court.

And Senator Obama now has basically said he will vote for it . He says he will try to remove the immunity, but supports the compromise. Since Republicans will not allow the immunity to be removed, that means he will vote for it.
