Second, Republicans have made about as clear as possible that even though they’ll pay lip service to “bipartisanship,” they don’t actually want that. The principal criticism Armey was launching at Joan Walsh in that Hardball segment was that she, along with most people, degrade our politics generally, and our economic debates specifically, by turning them into partisan wars. We should rise above that for the good of the country, Armey repeatedly intoned.
But please go read the email that John Cole posted last night about the stimulus package which the very same Dick “Post-Partisan” Armey was sending around on behalf of his group FreedomWorks, on the very day he was on Hardball excoriating those who want to politicize our economic debates. Armey’s mass-emailed screed urges opposition to the stimulus package as nothing more than “the Left’s Multi-Billion Dollar Handout to Liberal Allies.”

I was checking my Yahoo mail account and had the following teaser headline catch my eye:

OK, I’m curious, I go look. Turns out that she had a gown redesigned so that instead of plunging to her navel in front and requiring that it be taped to her breasts, and covering her back, she had it switched around so that it plunged down her back and covered her chest. Big whoop. Except the guy (I assume it’s a guy, there’s no byline given) seems to be outraged that she had the audacity not to show her tits for him, and *made* him look at her disgusting tattoos, and decried her dress choice as being “matronly’. OK, I’m not the most enlightened male in the world, but that was so blatent even *I* could tell it was just wrong.
Sorry, just wanted to vent. Carry on.
I found video of the original incident through the “related” function. Watching it, I had admiration for Joan Walsh. She refused to let that asshole put her off balance. She insulted back, then she kept talking back in a clear, level voice, saying exactly what she needed to say, while he went on blabbering, “Politics iz just silly… you bitches need to stop takin’ it serious”, and Tweety kept giggling like an ass.
It’s pretty useless, but I feel called to contact Armey’s office, and explain how much of an ass he looked like on that clip. I’ll try to get in just as they open up this morning.

There’s now a Facebook group called, “it must suck to be dick ( armey )—-and suck even more to be his wife…”
The clip needs to be run next to that guy from the Taliban pre-9/11 who visited DC and taunted the female reporter, “I feel sorry for your husband.”
