My take on the pictures?  The kids in the same-sex household pictures look relaxed; the parents look happy.  In the Browns’ picture Mom looks tired, as does the oldest daughter; the two younger daughters have those fake smiles of having been told to “say cheese” way too many times in a row and all but the youngest boys look stiff.  I’m also with the commenters who say go ahead an insult Brian Brown and his choices - he’s an asshole and is doing his children no favors with his current course, one he shows no signs of changing.

New Year’s Eve - It seems the current “tradition” in New England is to order and eat too much Chinese food, perhaps visit a 1st night celebration and watch fireworks.  We will make our own Chinese food and will likely watch the fireworks on tv. 
Our son has gone into Boston to spend the weekend with his sister in Watertown.  They are spending the day in Chinatown (as much Vietnamese and other sE Asian now, but the name has stuck even though Little Asia would be more accurate) and the Common before going to a place in Somerville were Love in Sweden is playing for the countdown to midnight.

New Year’s Eve found me deciding almost at the last minute to go to Boston and break in my new camcorder.
