Friday Genius Ten “Unnnnnnnpacking” Edition

I had to reorganize my entire 300 disc CD changer yesterday, totally reprogram it. So sorry if I was AWOL.  But it was a trip down memory lane, with “memory lane” meaning “the 90s”.  This song is chosen randomly as one that I enjoyed in the process.  Leave your own random or Genius Ten in comments.

Original song: “I’ll Take You Down” by Autoclave

1) “I Don’t Wanna Hear It”—-Minor Threat
2) “Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue”—-The Ramones
3) “Rebel Girl”—-Bikini Kill
4) “Punch the Geek”—-Soul Side
5) “Sweet Jane”—-The Velvet Underground
6) “The Guns of Brixton”—-The Clash
7) “What Kind of Monster Are You”—-Slant 6
8) “Lusty Scripps”—-Fugazi
9) “Three Girl Rhumba”—-Wire
10) “Brain Trust”—-Hot Snakes

Videos below the fold.  Unfortunately, I can’t figure out how to get the JPEG off Flickr anymore, and so I’m using Facebook for my adorable cat pictures.  Did they change the way the site is run?  I was always careful to link back. Help would be appreciated.

And just because I felt like it:

Dusty managed to climb into the top of a box that’s 5 feet tall, but probably only a foot and a half wide.  And take a nap in it.

Molly has been so desperate for things to hide behind that she made this poor decision:

Luckily for her, the furniture arrived and she has lots of options now.

I hope I’m understanding your problem correctly, if not, ignore me:)

To get pictures of flickr…you can:
1) click on “all sizes” icon above the picture you want (make sure you are logged in to flickr when you do this, or else the icon no longer appears)
2) click on the resolution you want
3) ctrl-click on the picture itself and “copy image location” then use that url in the image tag http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2793/4176015801_fe23d8cef2_b.jpg

Thanks!

Music was always the first thing I’d set up during a move. It makes it so much easier to unpack and get crap where it needs to go when you have something to listen to.

Have the cats forgiven you yet for moving? If Molly is looking for hiding spots, perhaps not quite yet.

I saw the Ramones in Asbury Park in 1976, right after their first album was released.  They played the entire album for the first set, then played it again for their second set, and played some of the songs a third time for their encore.  One of the best shows ever.

Random 10 (non-Ramones):

1.  “Someone To Watch Over Me” - Ella Fitzgerald
2.  “All Of You” (take 2) - Bill Evans Trio
3.  “Go ‘Way From My Window” - Joan Baez
4.  “I’m Getting Sentimental Over You” - Bill Evans and Jim Hall
5.  “Commotion” - CCR
6.  “Rifle Range” - Blondie
7.  “You’ve Really Got A Hold On Me” - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles
8.  “Let It Whip” - Dazz Band
9.  “A Gathering In A Clearing” - Duke Ellington & His Orchestra, from Black, Brown & Beige
10. “Rock And Roll Music” - Chuck Berry

Bonus:  “Dark As A Dungeon” - Johnny Cash, Live at Folsom Prison

We’re totally forgiven. Molly just likes to hide.

Here’s a housewarming present based on your post about global warming and the need to piss liberals off.

If I remember correctly, you enjoy Devo, enough that you went to a concert.  Was it this one?
