But how does this decision affect Al Franken?

But, we like the jokes.

Seriously, we didn’t expect him to win.  But there was a recount.  A hand count of all the ballots.  Yay.

Good for him. And hopefully for the Senate.

I was living in MN when Paul Wellstone died, and then there was the insane election between Coleman and Vice President Mondale.  Norman occupying that seat has been a daily insult for the past 6 years.

This result makes me soooooooooo fucking happy.

Humble, thankful, and thoughtful.  If Minnesota is going to become the laughingstock of the nation for picking this guy, I’ll be with the quiet people who don’t get it.

Minnesota already elected a pro wrestler as governor. Honestly, a comedian has a lot more gravitas as a politician than a pro wrestler.

I am glad for the people of Minnesota and glad for the American people that another smart liberal Democrat is a Senator now, but as a fan of Al Franken’s writing, I’m a bit saddened, because he probably can’t be *nearly* as cruelly witty in his writing and public speaking now that he’s a Senator, which means we may never get another “Lies And The Lying Liars Who Tell Them” from him.

As happy as I am that Mr. Franken won, I’m also happy that Harry Reid won’t be seating him just yet.  Imagine all the accusations the right could make?  Not the least of which would be racism.

Alara, mostly agree, but hopefully being a U.S. Senator will put the kibosh on his use of the C word to describe certain female conservative pundits.

When did he do that, MP?

(Google is no help but am I just blanking an obvious and high-profile event?)

And now the Democratic party can own up to having a REAL clown in the Senate…..not the wannabe clowns like Feinstein or Reid.

By the way, did you see Reid get skewered on Meet the Press on Sunday Morning?
