I was snarking when I said you and Amanda were now white guys. Hope that was obvious, but sometimes, ya know….

Oh, I know.  wink

Also funny - I was the only one on the panel under 30.

Wow, that was the whiniest thing ever.  When the panelists (especially Atrios) noted that part of the reason journalists clutch their pearls at this stuff is because they can’t do it and they’re jealous, I wonder if this reporter saw herself in that.  It’s so fucking true.  It’s not impossible to be a journalist and creative, people.  Hunter S. Thompson did it.  Don’t blame the rest of the world or those uppity bloggers because you have to write without any artistic flair.

Oh man, those commenters.

I always admired the comedian who could be funny without being crude.

I don’t admire people that say stuff like that, and feel sorry for anyone subjected to dinner conversation with her.

I too prefer Garrison Keillor to Richard Pryor.  Because that Richard Pryor fellow used so many bad words and shit.

Still not as obscene as torture, suspension of habeaus corpus, abu ghraib, Katrina, outing Valerie Plame, spying on Americans, etc.

FUCK

Comment #7: Todd  on  07/19  at  02:09 PM

Yes but Garrison Keillor not getting to say bad words on the radio lead to him writing a sex column at Salon.com.  Nobody wins when that happens.

Comment #8: Rob  on  07/19  at  02:11 PM

The definitive use of “fuck” in a blog post is here:

Legendary.

Who the fuck are these morons that give a shit about swear words?  I don’t fucking get it.

We are torturing people every day in our secret bases.  Over 100,000 iraqi’s are dead because no one in Dick Cheney’s inner circle has the guts to tell him he’s a moron.  And language is what is profane?  I don’t understand people.

Comment #10: TomK  on  07/19  at  02:23 PM

Personally, I don’t give a shit about swearing.

The only thing I find distasteful is when bloggers and their regular posters continually attack their opponents about their supposed sex lives. No. 1, how would you know, and No. 2, it’s got nothing to do with the price of potatoes.

Amanda Marcotte, who writes on pandagon.net and had been the blogmaster for John Edwards’s presidential campaign until some of her outside writings were deemed anti-Catholic

Um, deemed without reference or agency is a mighty interesting verb to employ there.

Comment #12: tata  on  07/19  at  02:36 PM

Negro please!

And utterly typical of the MSM’s intellectual laziness and irresponsibility.

Oh , c’mon Jess…

to the NYT commenters: I am, in fact, black.

Y’gotta say it right. Like this.
“I am -in fac’- black.”
Rhymes, too and you ARE tall.

Whew! Jus’ hadda get it out.

If the Vice President can say fuck in public, then so can I!
