Heat-packing protestor connected to Pastor Steven Anderson

OMFG. People thought this guy was just a joke; no one’s laughing now. Via Crooks & Liars:

So it turns out that Contessa Brewer had good reason to see a connection between the rabidly hateful rhetoric spewed by the likes of Pastor Steven Anderson and the angry, gun-toting protesters turning out for presidential events: One of the most prominent of these, an African-American man named “Chris”, is in fact a member of Pastor Anderson’s congregation.

“Chris” was on Alex Jones’ “Prison Planet” radio show late last week and discussed how “my pastor was beaten up” at a Border Patrol checkpoint.

Yes, that pastor is indeed Steven Anderson, who was arrested in April by the Border Patrol for being uncooperative at a patrol checkpoint. Anderson attempted to make himself something of a national martyr to the conspiracists out there by posting a video to YouTube about it that quickly went viral.

Jones took note of the Anderson connection:

Jones: Now I’m starting to get a clearer picture. You go to Pastor Anderson’s church, I see.

Chris: Yeah, yes I do. Proudly. I think it’s the best church in the world.

Well, I for one am shocked; shocked I tell you.

“Chris” apparently doesn’t realize that if Pastor Anderson actually got into any position of power, he’d be one of the first up against the wall.

Chris is a doorknob. Also: do you think a black man toting a gun would have gotten this close to Bush? Jesus christ why the double standard? More bipartenship<s>make sure you don’t offend the Retuglicains at all costs!!111</s> on Obamas part?

Every little Eichmann needs his army of gun-totting SS thugs.  “Chris” would do well in the Army of God, and probably get free reign to indulge in all the pillaging and assaulting his heart might desire.  That’s how third world dictators and their armed mercenary armies roll.

Anyone else getting videos that pause repeatedly?  The little red line says it’s downloaded, but it pauses every few seconds.  And now my computer had to turn its fan on, and it wasn’t even doing that when I was playing the video…

I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!

I’m so, so shocked.

...Steven Anderson is fucking nuts. His followers are fucking nuts. His wife is bat-shit insane, and also fucking nuts. Although I didn’t agree with what the border patrol agents did at that stop, I’ve otherwise been bitching about Anderson since March - and when I tell you a guy is too fucking crazy to defend, take my word for it; I can find it in my heart to defend some pretty crazy shit.

He is too crazy to defend for any reason. His parishioners pack heat at political rallies. They preach (and practice) violence. They are - and I cannot repeat or stress this enough - FUCKING NUTS. Tell everyone you know about this nutcase. Show everyone you know a link to his sermons and his website.

He wants media attention. For God’s sake, give him so much of it he chokes.

Let’s remember that The Devil’s Advocate has, in the past, found space to defend on principle some of the things coming out of Westboro Baptist.  If she says that Anderson is crazier than a squirrel on a bad acid trip then I’m inclined to believe her right out of the gate!

One of my friends on LJ commented on the post I did about this: Chris was invited to be there. These people are setting up a lone gunman scenario, adding in extra gunman and whining from here to heaven about how mean the liberals are to criticize the Repubs.

She also asked: Why didn’t these guys show up at Bush rallies? At McCain’s? They’re only showing up now, at Obama rallies, saying shit like, “Well, I have this right to do so, and so I am doing it.”

Oh, give the Rev the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he isn’t prejudiced against blacks. Maybe he hates gays and Obama so much there isn’t anything left over for blacks in general. Hatred can be exhausting—-it’s probably how he stays so thin.

I still defend them on principle. In fact, I’m currently building an archives section of their materials for my website. And yes, Anderson is crazier that a squirrel on a bad acid trip. It’s one thing to troll the media, even through funeral protests (and WBC has always publicly eschewed violence, even kicking a member out for it); but quite another to…well…go look for yourself:

There’s no bottom to that rabbit hole. Seriously. Anderson and his wife have yet to meet a crazy-assed conspiracy theory they don’t like - including, for example, the claim that vaccinations contain unique tags that allow the government to track children. (Has Zsuzsanna never heard of DNA?) Then there was his sermon on turning the other cheek, where he concluded the passage meant something other than non-violence.

And now one of his idiot flock has shown up at a political rally brandishing a weapon? Put up they swords, indeed.

I’m so glad to see Anderson finally getting critical media attention. After his stop by the border patrol. Fox and others were looking at him as some sort of victim. Hellllll no.

“I still defend them on principle.”

Yeah, but I couldn’t speak for your present, only your past.  Call it a deformity of historians.

And the JESUS turned his back and said: I fart in your general direction!

Please tell me he rendered the passage to mean that after proffering a blow job, one must then turn around and offer one’s anus for penetration.

Please.
