Former Republican speechwriter and CNN talking head Amy Holmes is now an “independent conservative”, despite having been a “Republican consultant” at every point that I can remember up to today.

Wonder who decided on that title change? Holmes or CNN?

I hate CNN so far in this convention. A lot.

The Concern troll News Network.

Considering it’s the networks that come up with those asinine titles, I’m guessing it was CNN. This must be an extension of the no liberals on the teevee rule. They can’t actually put a liberal on the teevee, but they can massage the text to make a Republican seem like an Independent so it seems more fair.

“Stop whining liberals, can’t you see we’re capitulating to your demands? Look a independent conservative, that’s like almost center-right. What more do you want?”

...hmmm…

Perhaps this is another occurrence of the mysterious “Mara Liasson Syndrome”...

Seems like a good move for both Holmes (whoever she is—I don’t bother with TV news) and CNN. As a “not-Republican” She distances herself from McCain (for the benefit of the Know-Nothing base) and the Bush disaster (for everyone else). Meanwhile as a “conservative independent” she can continue to root against Obama and also help in the MSM’s general effort to push the American centre further to the right.

Independent=Republican in the New Political Order.
Just like Fightin’ Joe is “independent” and even John McCain is “independent”.

Not only has Holmes always been a Republican consultant, but I’ve never heard her say anything independent before.  She just spouts the same ol’ rethug way of thinking.

Not having watched CNN very much and since the name is so white-bread, let me say I was surprised when I clicked on the link.

Perhaps Holmes changed her look from bobbleheaded blonde person (Republican shill) to bobbleheaded brown person (Independent Republican shill)?

Then again, ‘[party] consultant’ usually means ‘political hack without fixed employment’, and ‘independent conservative’ probably means the same as ‘Republican consultant’ to those who run the shows.

It’s fascinating, though, how conservative black female pundits on both MSNBC and CNN—and Michelle Bernard isn’t ‘independent’, but handsomely rewarded by Wingnut Welfare—have had their party affiliations scrubbed.

I have observed Amy Holmes on Bill Maher, and she does not seem enthusiastic about John McCain. Maybe the new designation is her preference.

I find it best just to hit mute when Amy Holmes comes on the tv and pretend her intelligence is not inversely proportional to her attractiveness.
