Next entry: BREAKING: Rich, Famous, Image-Obsessed Man Cheats Previous entry: President’s Remarks: ‘The Way Forward in Afghanistan and Pakistan’

Jailbird Larry ‘homo-sex and blow w/Obama’ Sinclair runs for Congress

From the President’s somber speech on Afghanistan to…this. Only in America.

Larry Sinclair, the man who claimed that he “took drugs [and] had homo sex with Obama” is now running for Congress in Florida’s 24th district. His slogan: “I have served my time, now it’s time I serve my Country.”

Sinclair, author of Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex, Lies & Murder? and convicted felon, was reportedly offered $10,000 to verify his claims of illicit sex and drug use with then candidate Obama via a polygraph test, which he promptly failed.

...Sinclair has been convicted of larceny, theft, check forging and credit card fraud and has served over 16 years in prison in Florida and Colorada where he was disciplined 97 times for infractions including assault, threats, drug possession, intimidation, and verbal abuse.

Hmmm. Well, he sure sounds like a trustworthy fellow. Maybe there’s something to this.

Nice catch!

Also:

1) I adore the question mark at the end of his book’s title. “Cocaine, Sex, Lies, and Murder? Maybe?”

2) I also appreciate that he feels the need to be specific that it was homo sex with Obama, as opposed to the other, non-homo, kinds of sex two men can have together.

Comment #3: mr_subjunctive  on  12/02  at  12:10 AM

That’s just…wow. Homo-sex with Obama, eh? I can’t imagine why anyone would doubt his story.

Comment #4: Nil  on  12/02  at  01:04 AM

It’s weird that he thinks he’s going to get support for his campaign from teabaggers and PUMAs.  Uh, dude, those aren’t the people who approve of “homo sex”.

Comment #5: DonnaDiva  on  12/02  at  01:35 AM

DonnaDiva—-No, but they DO approve of people who accuse liberal and/or black Presidents of things that enough people disapprove of to potentially get him out of office.  Larry here is useful, which means the part where HE allegedly had “homo sex” sort of disappears the way rapists do on the news.

And/or he’ll be the Good Fag who votes against same-sex marriage, and avoids falling in love and having a meaningful relationship, and otherwise gives them a nonthreatening and vaguely entertaining stereotype, and, more importantly, gives the whole right wing the excuse to say “We’re not homophobic! See, Larry’s our guy and we love him (but not like that).”

That said, convicted criminal, greedy, abusive in some fashion, accuses the president of whatever comes to mind?  Sounds like just what the conservatives are going for these days.

I think homo is to distinguish from another genus. You know, like terapenne (i.e. box turtles).

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA….sigh.

Comment #8: Well, what?  on  12/02  at  02:55 AM

And how soon before he does time for slander/libel?

Comment #9: phylosopher  on  12/02  at  03:15 AM

He’s backwards.  The normal sequence is, first Congress, then prison.

Comment #10: rea  on  12/02  at  08:26 AM

He sounds like the Republican dream candidate! If only he’d kept his dirty laundry in the closet…

Totally OT:
I always like your posts and am glad you are upping your contributions here while Amanda is relocating.  Thanks.

What a bloodthirsty lot.  For one thing libel and slander are not criminal offenses anywhere in teh United States.  My local ACLU Board has fought against local cops who have arrested people for dimply insulting their police work.

Anyway, have you no sympathy for this misguided soul?  I understand that he associates himself with those vile Republicans, but he is obviously sick.  Instead of wishing him harm, he should be recommended for care.  It is not his fault that he has these views.  He has been brainwashed by the media and, doubtless, the ultra conservative viewpoints he lives with.

Straw man alert.

I wouldn’t listen to anything this guy says. He’s a discredited witness. I know, because he and I used to do a lot of drugs and have gay sex together.

I’m assuming that’s “simply”, and simply insulting police work isn’t slander or libel.  It’s an opinon and protected speech, which his why the ACLU is involved.  You CANNOT arrest someone for exercising her/his First Amendment Right. Well, you CAN, but it’s wrong and you’ll never get a conviction and may face disciplinary action.

However, out and out lying about the police, such as baselessly claiming they were shooting up drugs at the local Dunkin’ Donuts and having teh homo-sex while on duty, would be slander/libel, and the ACLU wouldn’t touch them with a ten-foot pole.

Maybe the guy is sick, maybe he’s just a crook.  I didn’t get person in need of psychiatric help from reading that blurb about him.

I got con man, grifter, thief, and general bad guy.  He’s the kind of guy who would scam your grandmother out her her life savings and then leave town without an ounce of shame.

But, you’ve got to love the fact that we still live in a country where a convicted con-man can run for Congress.

Is it still illegal in Florida for persons with felony convictions to vote?  You’ve got to hate the fact that we live in a country where some places would deny this guy the right to vote for himself.

I’m assuming he’s running as a Republican, then?

“I have served my time, now it’s time I serve my Country.”

“I have slandered a Democrat, I have served my time, now it’s time I got some talk-show face time and a book deal.”

@13:

Anti-Social Personality Disorder is virtually impossible to treat.  Only consequences serve to discourage sociopathic behavior.

Your concern is noted, however.

“Is it still illegal in Florida for persons with felony convictions to vote?”

Depends on the crime, after which it depends on whether or not he’s gone through the process of restoring his rights.  I can’t find the information right now, but I looked it up last year after a bunch of “ZOMG FELONS R VOTIN N FLRIDUH” reports.  The least serious felonies get flagged for an auto-restoration as soon as you’re released with a completed sentence or off probation, so you can vote again within six months of whichever applies.  As you move up the ladder, the process gets more involved and takes longer, though most of it’s still rubber-stamp-type stuff.  It just has to migrate through more offices and get more stamps before it’s complete.

Obama has better taste than that.

In other news, crazy people run for office all the time, even if, with the exception of Michelle Bachmann, they have slim to nil chance of winning.

<obamavoice>Mr. Sinclair should be ashamed of himself.  *Grips podium* I mean, I bought him dinner and everything and he didn’t even call me in the morning.  And now this.  *Grips podium and shakes head* I’m just so disappointed, Larry.  I really thought we had something special.  I guess it was just the cocaine. </obamavoice>
