Next entry: Other than the crab-bear fights Previous entry: The Next Two Months, McCain-Palin Style

Look out, Governor Palin!

image
Presumptive Republican Vice Presidential Nominee exhibits cool under pressure. “Obama and Biden are such elitists that they’ve never even attended a crab-bear fight,” she pointed out. “Senator McCain and I are committed to bringing middle America’s favorite past-times inside the beltway. Crab-bear fights are a big part of our platform.”

Comment #7: Mark  on  08/29  at  06:34 PM

She must have hated that bear.

Comment #8: Notorious P.A.T.  on  08/29  at  06:40 PM

Is that John Carpenter’s The Thing on her coffee table?

Comment #9: Joshua  on  08/29  at  06:50 PM

Dear God Tweety is having PUMAs on again.  They’re praising Palin.

I need a drink.

Comment #10: Ben D.  on  08/29  at  06:54 PM

So here’s this giant enemy crab

And you attack its weak point for massive damage.

Comment #11: mcc  on  08/29  at  06:57 PM

And you attack its weak point for massive damage.

You pour butter and salt on it, and have some steamed vegetables on the side? grin

Comment #12: Pseudo-Adrienne  on  08/29  at  07:03 PM

Win, mcc.

Comment #13: Auguste  on  08/29  at  07:04 PM

I’d think that a clever caption-if I were 14 years old.Ya ‘see, Amanda, the person one is attempting to ridicule should be/have done something ridiculous. The best know deflation of a Presedential candidate(at least that i know) was By Alice Roosevelt who proclaimed 1948 republican nominee Tom dewey,“looked like the plastic doll of a groom on a wedding cake”.Since there was an element of resemblance,it worked. With the above,I fear you are trying too hard/over reaching.Keep trying.
And is there a statute of limitations on how log I can run with the “I finished in the top half(76 of 85) of my law school speech Sen Biden made?
    best wishes,Corwin

Comment #14: corwin  on  08/29  at  07:26 PM

I’m thinkin’ if we could have like a whole company of CrabBears, put ‘em through basic training first, and then deploy ‘em in Eyerack, we could wrap up that whole situation in a flash…

Comment #15: MikeEss  on  08/29  at  07:28 PM

corwin, whatever you’re snorting doesn’t seem to allow you to tell the difference between Auguste and Amanda.

So you either need to buy crystal meth from somebody else, or something…

Comment #16: MikeEss  on  08/29  at  07:31 PM

I want the CrabBear count, and I want it now!

Comment #17: Mark B. from Austin TX  on  08/29  at  07:35 PM

Woof!

Comment #18: Bagley  on  08/29  at  07:49 PM

Will she challenge Biden to a head to head on the Most Dangerous Catch?
Ms Kate on 08/29 at 05:09 PM

I first read that as The Most Dangerous Couch.

Comment #19: J Neo Marvin  on  08/29  at  07:51 PM

Ummm, Corwin, it’s a joke. Just clearin’ that up for ya.

Comment #20: Mark  on  08/29  at  07:53 PM

There’s going to be a lot of silly talk about her looks, and I don’t want to contribute to either marginalizing her or puffing her up based on her physical appearance. But that said…

She looks EXACTLY like the woman in the Snorg Tees ad that, at this moment on Pandagon, is directly above this post. The hair, the glasses… and even the message on the shirt, “ASSISTANT (to the) REGIONAL MANAGER” is sort of in spiritual sync with Palin’s new role.

Spooky!

Comment #21: Matt  on  08/29  at  07:55 PM

Eh, that ain’t a patch on Lobster Knife Fightk.

Comment #22: Wareq  on  08/29  at  07:55 PM

I’d think that a clever caption-if I were 14 years old.Ya ‘see, Amanda, the person one is attempting to ridicule should be/have done something ridiculous.

You mean like you just did by not knowing who actually wrote the post and condescendingly addressing the wrong person?

Comment #23: Mnemosyne  on  08/29  at  08:04 PM

Now, now, Mnem. It’s not nice to make fun of stupid people.

Fun and easy, yes, but not nice.

Comment #24: Dan, Grand High Emperor of Bananas Foster  on  08/29  at  08:38 PM

It’s not nice to make fun of stupid people.

Maybe not.  But they have it coming.

Comment #25: Notorious P.A.T.  on  08/29  at  08:52 PM

I first read that as The Most Dangerous Couch.

I read it was “Most Dangerous Crotch”! :/ oh dear I guess you can’t get king crabs down there- not without a speculum anyhow.

I’m betting on the bear they are the #1 threat to America according to Stephen Colbert!

BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment #26: Danica Lefse Queen  on  08/29  at  09:13 PM

“So here’s this giant enemy crab

Several years too late for that. Unless Palin receives money from Sony Corporation.

Comment #27: tootiredoftheright  on  08/29  at  10:10 PM

One of the charges against her brother in law which she illegally pressured her Public Safety Comissioner to fire is, I kid you not, shooting a moose without a permit.

Alaska is looking weirder and weirder all the time.

Comment #28: Ben D.  on  08/29  at  10:26 PM

Look, if Governor Palin wants crab-bear fights, I’m sure Andrew Sullivan will be happy to eat a few soft-shells for the Obama campaign.

Comment #29: Maureen  on  08/29  at  10:43 PM

Well this is just another example of how strange and amorphous definitions of elitism, used to tar Democrats, have been. I never understood why windsurfing was and hunting wasn´t, and now you have to have been to a “crab-bear fight,¨ whatever that is? How about lowering taxes to cut social safety nets for the needy; that is elitist. Or saying you cannot be a Real American unless you hunt, fight crab-bears or whatever… that is elitist and snobby, too.

Comment #30: Luke  on  08/29  at  10:44 PM

Didn’t Aesop have a fable called The Crab And The Bear?

Like the bear has a thorn in her paw and the crab takes it out and they become friends or something?...

***

Looking at that picture, I suddenly realized that I would respect Obama as leader so much more if he had taken a gun and killed a few of god’s creatures.  And then drank their still-warm blood.  And he could have cut their heads off and had them stuffed and mounted.  And saved the meat for a big BBQ.

Going hunting is definitely some quality leadership experience…

Comment #31: MikeEss  on  08/30  at  12:20 AM

I thought they made Crab-Bear fights illegal after those horrible deaths — didn’t they?...

Comment #32: MikeEss  on  08/30  at  12:27 AM

I’m betting on the bear they are the #1 threat to America according to Stephen Colbert!

BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#1 threat to America?!!!

Lies!!

Most Alaskan bears just want to be left alone to enjoy their peace and hard earned pensions after shouldering the burden of keeping the US and USSR/Russia from starting a fracas across the Bering straits over the last several decades.  Why must they continue to suffer various indignities…such as doing coercive political endorsement as the above picture shows???

Psst….I have it on good authority that the vast majority of the Alaskan bear population are actually Obama/Biden supporters…....especially after Palin’s recent attempts to deny the suffering of their Polar compatriots.

wink
