Michael BAlt-130rubAlt-130 on the concern troll crisis

Citing “clear and present dangers to the party,” a group of leading Democratic concern trolls gathered over the weekend to express their concerns about recent Democratic victories at the polls.  The group, calling itself “Concerned Democrats for America,” announced in a press release that it would hold annual conferences throughout Barack Obama’s presidency in an attempt “to keep the Democratic Party in touch with the concerns of the American people.”

I was an embarrassingly long way into the full article before I was sure that he was completely joking, rather than mocking an actual group of either foot-shooting Democrats, or rat-fucking Republicans posing as such.

Well, I have seen a lot of conservative columnists saying virtually those things, Ethan.  I’m not entirely sure all of that is made up.

I’m worried that that low-class race hustler Obastard will trash our country. The watermelon patch he’ll plant in front of the White, I mean, Black House is just the beginning of our problems!

Tell me, can the First Family apply for welfare?

“Specifically, I’m concerned that fewer Democrats are going to be willing to take seriously the concerns of people who want to reach out across the aisle and establish a bipartisan consensus that abortion is wrong.”

Okay.  So you tell me they’re joking.  Good.  Cause that line is where I stopped reading and was going to come back here and be like WTF?  But I guess this is a commentary on how the Republicans are worried that their beliefs won’t be fully represented.  You know, like the Democrats before this election.

Uh, accented characters don’t work well in titles.  Or, really, on the Web in general.

Comment #5: Damian  on  11/13  at  09:57 AM

So, is “ronny” an alter ego for Rugged in Montana?  Somebody trying the snark thing for the first time?  Or somebody who confused Pandagon with Free Republic?...

Comment #6: MikeEss  on  11/13  at  10:28 AM

He forgot the part about establishing a consensus that torture is really OK after all.

Comment #7: paul  on  11/13  at  11:26 AM

There wasn’t anything about hockey in there!

How DARE they disenfranchise the Hockey Parents!

Tell me, can the First Family apply for welfare?

They will probably vastly raise the average family income of working people who identify as Black in the district.  Not directly - just by being there.

Comment #9: Ms Kate  on  11/13  at  11:33 AM

Concerned Democrats? Clear & present danger to the party? We just won you fuckheads. Are we going to have to start calling people “DINOs”?

Comment #10: Mark  on  11/13  at  12:50 PM

We shouldn’t be turning on each other like a pack of starved honey badgers, but leaving it to the folks who are good at it, like the “Leper” project people, those convinced that BHO isn’t an American citizen, etc.

Oh ... and here I thought that Michael had adopted the DJ name “B’rub”.

Let DJ B’Rub introduce you to some spin!

The truly sad thing here? That it’s so genuinely difficult in these, our Tabloid Times, to seperate satire from actual reality.

Anyone confused about the article should read the final paragraph. That’s all I’ll add.

Comment #15: Auguste  on  11/13  at  02:58 PM

I still don’t get it?

Comment #16: Clara  on  11/13  at  04:11 PM

So, is “ronny” an alter ego for Rugged in Montana?

My warehose of sock puppets does not include a “ronny”.  Besides, the President doesn’t need to go on welfare, he just has money printed up and sent to his real estate agent in Uruguay or Paraguay.

Psst - the e aigu is & e acute ;
(but without spaces)

I still don’t get it?

“America is still a center-right country.  Every map confirms this simple fact: when you look at the United States, you see that most people live in the center and on the right side of the map…”

(Sorry, Proféssor Dangér, but I couldn’t allow this terrible comment thread to go on.)

Hey, thanks for the shöutöut, Auguste.  But now I’m very concerned about the state of our Internets.  Apparently the Google no longer works for the names “Amy Sullivan,” “Lanny Davis,” and “Mudcat Saunders.”

I thought this was the giveaway, myself:  I’m especially concerned about what will happen to the party once those advisors’ concerns are no longer given a prominent hearing.  Will Democrats stop trying to appeal to conservative Southern whites?  Will Democrats become instead a regional party, confined to the northeast, the Middle Atlantic, the Great Lakes and upper midwest, the mountain southwest, and the Pacific states?  Because the Davis and Sullivan paragraphs are, indeed, pretty damn close to what Davis and Sullivan say all the time.
