National Republican Congressional Committee web site: economy is robust, job creation strong

This is precious. Talk about a party in disarray. Either the GOP is as delusional as John McCain was on the state of the economy or they have some seriously lameass webmasters over at the National Republican Congressional Committee:

Thanks to Republican economic policies, the U.S. economy is robust and job creation is strong.”

When The Politico inquired about this disconnect with reality, this was the response:

“The site is currently under construction. We are looking forward to relaunching the site and fostering a discussion on just how Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues’ plan to spend their way out of recession is absurd at best and financially ruinous at worst.”

And those robust GOP policies under George Bush really have the U.S. rolling in the dough. Another fail.

So… it’s a really robust recession, then?

Job creation?  Are they on crack?

Comment #2: Joshua  on  01/23  at  06:07 PM

Where’s the part about how it is Clinton’s fault?

Where’s the part about how it is Clinton’s fault?

I think that’s why they said it was still under construction.

Comment #4: Joshua  on  01/23  at  06:09 PM

Reality-challenged much, NRCC?

Comment #5: Just a Singer in a Rock 'n' Roll Band  on  01/23  at  06:20 PM

Silly Repubs, the orderlies are robust, the drugs are strong.

Comment #6: Ms Kate  on  01/23  at  06:20 PM

When it comes to reporting the truth like this, that America is better and stronger than ever, where are the damn Librul Media?...

[/snark]

Comment #7: MikeEss  on  01/23  at  06:27 PM

These people are frickin’ delusional.

It’s like they’re on a separate plane of existence and every once in a while they blat something out that spews bile on both sides of the plane.

Somebody please finish putting the NRCC out of its sorry, sadass misery.

This from the party whose answer to the economic fallout was a multimillion dollar handout to wall street.

Comment #9: Keith  on  01/23  at  06:53 PM

Of course The Liberal Media only tells us the bad news.  They never report on any of the good stuff—it’s exactly the same as the way they’re all fixated on people getting blown up in Iraq and not the schools that girls can’t go to ‘cause they don’t have rights any more…

Wait, shit, I’m doing it too!  I’m so ashamed.

Comment #10: kaninchen  on  01/23  at  06:59 PM

My friends, the fundamentals of our economy are strong…

Comment #11: Ben D.  on  01/23  at  07:19 PM

That has to be the stupidest excuse I’ve ever heard.  If a Web site is under construction, you put up a notice that it’s under construction, not leave bad content visible.  So, here’s our choices:

1) The RNC is delusional.

2) The RNC is composed of idiots.

3) The RNC doesn’t care about reality.

4) All/Any of the above.

Assinine. It’s like the old joke that when your kid brings home “A"s, s/he’s your kid, but when s/he’s just been arrested for snorting meth and burning down a dog shelter, s/he’s your spouse’s kid.

Aww, they’re so cute when they get lost in their little fantasy worlds.

Comment #14: kristin  on  01/23  at  08:10 PM

Financially ruinious?

Like a war of choice?  Like no bid contracts to Cheney’s pals that brought Halliburton back from the brink of bankruptcy?  Like no oversight on those contracts, so that we ended up electrocuting our own soldiers?  That kind of finanacially ruinious?

Or is it b/c Obama wants to know where the money’s going, so when the banks get billions they can’t just pad their coffers and refuse to lend it?

Fuckheads.  Incompetents.  My hope lies in the fact that McCain’s fucked up campaign was apparently the best they could do, and that by staffing their offices with loyal idiots instead of people with experience and competence means that things won’t be changing for them quickly anyway.

The White House website was online at 12:01pm, looking more awesome than ever.  All they can do is whine about it.

I’m just hoping that Obama sends out his people to refute the lies which are all the Repubs have at this point.  Continue the 50-state strategy by forcing the Repubs to fight for every point they want to make.

They aren’t up to it.

Unfortunatly (fortunatly?) one of my favorite songs of theirs is now obsolete…

“You stupid cattle who’ll fall for anything
In this country of the blind, the one eyed man is king
You stupid cattle who’ll die for anything
In the country of the blind, the one eyed fucking man is fucking king”

Comment #17: BlackBloc  on  01/23  at  08:43 PM

I think they misunderstood the global gag order. Well now that it’s gone they should start telling the truth.

Comment #18: NerdGirl  on  01/23  at  09:16 PM

Job creation in the key Democratic White House Employee Shortlist sector has increased lately, plus repo men and those people who stand on streetcorners with signs that say “Clearance Sale 50% Off Everything!” have had a similar boomtime.  It’s more than offset the losses in the torture sector.

It must be even more cognitively dissonancey to be a Redoublechin these days.

i am trying to find a pun with the dough there.

something like “we ARE rolling in dough, gingersnap dough!”

except, of course, i want the TYPE of dough to be reflective and a continuation of the pun…

i’m coming up blank. but suggestions are useful. i love taking down stupid ReThugs with jokes that they can’t even understand

(does that make me a bad person? because, as the saying goes, if that is bad i don’t wanna be right. OH! my puns are killer today…)

please forgive this broadcast from then PunAmerican…........

No way man, that’s my side of the family right there!  You can take us out of the trailer park, but we’re probably in handcuffs when you do it.

Job creation is strong, panhandling is a job right?

Godless Heathen on 01/23 at 10:30 PM

No, panhandling is entrepreneurship so it’s even better!

Beg, and Be Your Own Boss! Every man a capitalist, be they big ones or small!

Comment #23: Mark Foxwell  on  01/24  at  12:33 PM

Panhandling may not be a job, but it is work.  The idea is to get people back to work I suppose.

The Republicans really have no shame.  Anyone else having the Hank Hill quandary, “I don’t know whether to laugh or vomit?”
