Next entry: The Two Greatest Sentences In Wingnut History Previous entry: The complicated relationship of sexual aggression and porn

Note to Family Research Council: resistance is futile.

FundiesHumorL-O-S-E-R-SLGBT

Freedom is irrelevant. Assimilation is inevitable. Resistance is futile.

Yes, it’s pretty funny that the Family Research Council continues to believe that The Homosexual Agenda is all-powerful and all-consuming—a steamroller of epic proportions, crushing all Christianity out of our culture by our stealthiness

and

our balls-out aggression (remember, lesbians don’t exist).

Read the crazy-*ss paranoia of FRC blogger Cynthia Hill, who believes that the success of Victory Fund candidates on June 8th signals armageddon for America.

Americans should take a cold, hard look at the consequences of significant wins by openly lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender (LGBT) candidates in last night’s races. This is the fruition of that community’s methodical efforts to further homosexualize America. Their efforts, combined with this administration’s appointments of key federal positions of at least 101 LGBT aficionados, have largely been under the radar, but could predict critical damage to our rule of law. Think of it – we are electing people who ultimately see the Christian world view as the single, final barrier to their ultimate goal of acceptance and implementation of the homosexual agenda. If and when they dominate the legislatures, those who espouse Biblical principles then become the enemy and will surely be on the wrong end of law-making.

Gaypolitics.com noted:

Um, does somebody have some domination fantasies maybe?  Anyway, it’s always drama with these people–the “final barrier” to their “ultimate goal” of dominating the legislatures!

Reality check:  There are about 7,000 state lawmakers in the U.S., and about 80 of them are openly gay or lesbian or bisexual–about 1% of the total.  So chill out, Cynthia Hill.  You’ll be fine.  For now.

Lesbians do exist!  How else would straight guys have exciting orgy fantasies?

If you restate that in sane english, though, it’s a fairly accurate statement of the way things are. People who are in favor of equality and civil rights for everybody do see wingnut bigots as the crucial barrier to a world where marriage and other right don’t depend on whom you love. The wingnuts are the modern Lester Maddoxes and Strom Thurmonds (Strom in particular), they’re just not ashamed of it.

Comment #2: paul  on  06/21  at  09:05 PM

“LGBT aficionados”?  I do not think that word means what she thinks it does.

I’m just trying to imagine what someone would have to be to be engaged in all of those.  An amnesiac multiple-personalitied hermaphrodite, perhaps?

Glad everybody else is picking on “aficionados”.  LOL

Loving the language in this thing:  “I bin homosexulized!!!”  Good grief.

Comment #5: Eric_RoM  on  06/21  at  10:31 PM

All aficionado means is that they are a fan or supporter.  They need not be homosexual themselves.  I don’t understand the use of the term in this case since it really doesn’t imply much of anything.  Fetishist would be more appropriate for their desired goal.  Course as paul pointed out, the bigots are the last barrier to acceptance.

Comment #6: Xeranar  on  06/21  at  10:35 PM

It’s been noted many times that if you want to know what “conservatives” / teabeggars / BPublicans are up to, or planning to be up to, just watch what they accuse liberals / progressives / Dem’s of doing.  They are masters of the art of projection, if nothing else.
So of course they believe (the ones who aren’t just cynically exploiting the grass-roots to expropriating their money and their votes by telling what they know to be lies) that GLBT activists want to forcibly, w/ the mechanisms of the state, impose their “lifestyle choices” on the good, morally upright, Christian masses, and to suppress, repress, and outlaw any expression of the “traditional” values they espouse.  It’s what they’ve done to us worldwide for millennia, and for over 200 years in the US.  It’s what they want to keep on doing.  And they can’t even imagine that we don’t want anything like that.
And of course they’re getting more extreme, more vitriolic, and more violent in their attempts to maintain their control of their collapsing little worlds; they know they’re losing.  They are as aware as we are—and more so—that their generation is the last one in which the ‘phobes are the majority.  They know they’re already extinct—but their corpses are still twitching with posthumous rage.  Their reactions, as somebody once said in a very different context (but this time it’s actually true), are clearly their last throes.
And though I obviously wish no human being, no matter how vile, hateful, or evil, any harm, physical or otherwise, the day cannot come soon enough when the last admitted, practicing ‘phobe is being lowered into their last resting place.

and the other 700 or so are all Republicans, so she’s still safe

...we are electing people who ultimately see the Christian world view as the single, final barrier to their ultimate goal of acceptance…

1) Every election, 99.9999999999% of the candidates spend most of their time falling over themselves to prove what good church-going godbots they are because that’s the only way to get elected in this damned country.
2) The “Christian world view” pretty much is the biggest barrier to acceptance for gay people.  Irrational feelings of squick factor in as well, but Leviticus-quoting assholes are much more prevalent.

Comment #9: schism  on  06/22  at  02:31 AM

actually, it’s all about money. no doubt the FRC will ramp up the pleas for donations, to counteract this pending blight on the body politic.  their supporters, sphincters tightened, tongues firmly rolled up in mouths, will send in wads of cash, to prove they aren’t living in the hallway closet.

tony perkins and the gang have a great scam going.

Homosexual is a verb now?  Interesting.

Anybody wanna get naked and do some homosexualling right now?

Comment #11: speedbudget  on  06/22  at  08:30 AM

The crazy “Christian” lady says ” lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender (LGBT)”.

Gaypolitics.com says “gay or lesbian or bisexual” and does not mention trans people. I guess we don’t count?

This inFURYates me. With extra FURY. How is it that the bigot manages to be more inclusive than the gay politicos?

Comment #12: TroubleEntendre  on  06/22  at  08:42 AM

What about the gay Christians, and the Christians who are LGBT allies?  I guess they’re not Real True Christians, and they’re actually just infiltrating churches to take Christianity down from the inside.

Comment #13: bananacat  on  06/22  at  08:45 AM

The “101 LGBT aficionados” are the Lefty Left’s answer to the 101st Fighting Keyboardists.

and as lesbians are non-existant, so are different denominations of Christianity.  Whackadoodle, home-grown and invented Dominionist Rapturites are the only Real Americans and Real Christians, after all.

Comment #14: Caren-Sun-blocking Creator of Animorphic Pancakes  on  06/22  at  08:55 AM

“does not mention trans people. I guess we don’t count?”

Of course not. You’re all too busy terrorizing people in restrooms to matter politically.

Seriously, though, I think trans issues are different enough to the wingnuts that even THEY realize their hate message will go dangerously off its wheels if they include everyone they hate in every message, and gay men are their current target, with lesbians as collateral damage except when they get uppity.

Trans people are on their list. When scary Communists stopped being the cash cow, they had gay people as the ready backup Threat To Society. They’re losing us now. I can’t tell, and I don’t think THEY know, who comes next - they are clearly floating trial balloons about atheists, trans people, and Moslems as the next big threat.

Atheists make the most sense, but it’s hard to scare people with a whole group whose response is “yeah, so?”

The Christian bigot view is a major barrier in this country, but not in the world.  They, and apparently some here, seem to think we in the USA are the world.  Sorry, folks, we are a small minority, and elsewhere the main crux of anti-homo-rage is not necessarily related to Christianity in any way, though it is often grounded in other religions.

Is homosexualize the new jazzersize?

Comment #17: CBrachyrhynchos  on  06/22  at  10:03 AM

I, for one, look forward to our new homosexualized America. It will be oh-so-tastefully decorated. The cocktails will be delicious. Of course, we will have to deal with a scourge of tiny, designer pets.

101 LGBT Aficionados?

Best. Disney. Film. EVER.

Comment #19: Sarcastro  on  06/22  at  11:33 AM

I think the Family Research Council is really too scared to look at the bottomline, that these candidates won. This means that all sorts of people voted for the LGBT candidates, and that the fear tactics used by the wingnut factions didn’t work.

smartalek @ #7 is right. The wingnuts’ own children don’t care about taking up their issues.

Comment #20: LCforevah  on  06/22  at  11:48 AM

I was thinking that as I read the newer comments.  The western Christian world view is pretty progressive outside of right-wing America and compared to the vast majority of religious people on this earth the christian/catholic left is practically Marx dancing around with Lenin left.  When foreign nations are executing homosexuals in the name of their concept of religion I wouldn’t necessarily blame Christianity as a whole.

First rule of understanding religion: It’s a two-way street and most people define religion for themselves.

Second Rule of understanding religion:  The people at the top need to have an enemy to blame when things fail to go right.

So that right that there explains both why random bigots use religion as their excuse and why the upper echelons of otherwise decent religions use homosexuality as their crutch to avoid dealing with the poverty issue.

Note to self: More Indigo Girls on the workout iPod.

Comment #22: NBarnes  on  06/22  at  12:33 PM

TroubleEntendre, this is an actual question seeking information and not meant to be confrontational in any way: are there any trans legislators?  I tried some googling and couldn’t come up with any.  Of course, I think there *should* be some (in my perfect world where everyone is represented), but if there aren’t then the gaypolitics statement is a (sad but) factual truth.  They do include TG rights in their mission and reporting on their website.  If there are TG legislators they’re ignoring, then indeed, shame on them.

On a lighter note: my friends and I have long used “gay” as a noun (e.g., “he’s a gay”); I think we shall indeed be adding the verb “homosexualize” to our vocabulary!

Hey, if we straight people are going to be homosexualized, will we finally be allowed to see a copy of The Homosexual Agenda (tm)? I keep hearing about it, and I’ve always wondered what’s in it.

Steve, I might be with you on the workouts, but I’m keeping up with the waxing. The wife digs it too much to give up.

I feel mildly ashamed. I went over to that Family Research Council blog and joined the queue of righteous and enraged commenters. Here’s my submission:

“I really don’t understand why we as God fearing, Jesus loving, rapture anticipating Christians are in any way opposing the homosexual agenda. Any societal trend that will accelerate the return of our Lord and Saviour to bring forth his righteous wrath upon this sinful world is to be welcomed! We will be drawn heavenward as he descends to cast the non-believers into the lake of fire; the most awesome expression of his holy love for all of his creation! Yes, I know your objections. How did the horrific mass murders of the holocaust, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Rwanda, etc. not bring the gloriously anticipated End Times? Simple. Those were all about chinks, commies, dark skinned people and Jews. Several million of them slaughtered? All part of God’s wonderful plan. But, good American women going down on each other, or American men sucked into the depravity of anal sex with each other? That is a whole ‘nother level of outrage. That is sure to get Jesus’ attention! He’ll be all over that like white on rice baby. Make no mistake. And I, for one, am totally looking forward to it. See you at the pearly gates brothers and sisters!”
