The fixation of conservatives like Rush on sex acts is really troubling, I mean worthy of the couch. There is something seriously wrong with them.

Seriously, though, I think they cling to such imagery precisely because they are at least as obsessed with sex as they accuse liberals of being.  Yet more conservative projection, in other words. 

At best, perhaps the more cynical among their leaders like Rush just go there because sex sells: if they can tie their political agenda, or more importantly their own personal power, to public sexual anxiety, the sexually anxious will embrace them, perhaps?  Convince the repressed that their problems aren’t their own but are the result of the corrupted world around them and promise to end that corruption.  Sexual scapegoating as a means to power and wealth.

Of course that’s giving them a lot of credit.  It probably is simply a sincere expression of sexual anxiety of Rush’s own.

First of all, liberals are obsessed with sex.  Conservatives are obsessed with sex.  It’s just that liberals revel in the positives and conservatives with the negatives.  Look at fire as a metaphor for the approach:
  *  liberals look at a fire and think. “wow, it’d be great to have sex with X in front of that roaring fire”;
  *  conservatives look at a fire and think, “wow, it’d be great to have X tied on top of that roaring fire”.

Gordon Brown, Global Socialist?  If so he totally, totally, totally sucks at it.

Apologies for contributing to the not-so-pleasant mental pictures being brought up by all of this, but my guess is that he’s referring to Gordon Brown kissing Obama’s arse?  A British variant is to be licking someone’s arse.  Alternative number 2 is to be brown-nosing.  And such arse-directed activities might lead to “anal poisoning”, if your mind is particularly literal.  That’s the only thing I can think of that would in any way make some small shred of sense.

There is apparently a certain faction of the American right wing that is so concerned about socialists that they wouldn’t recognize one of he or she marched down the street waving a red flag and singing The Internationale.

Which is, you know, ironic, because I’ve sat in the victory celebration of a MP for whom I’d done volunteer work singing with an entire bar of people, you guessed it, The Internationale.  Brown’s on the righter side of social democrat.

What’s so ironic is the homosexuals, themselves such as this poster, throwing homos under the bus to attack their enemies.

Anal poisoning is the result of: a) sticking something poisonous in your anus, b) eating an anus that hasn’t been prepared correctly, c) listening to an anus on the radio.

Yeah, I’m with Emily. Sanchez is going to wear out his pearls if clutches them much more. Personally, I find Rush’s parade of racist comments directed toward black people (I haven’t heard the recitations of his racist comments towards every other non-white skinned people, but I’m perfectly willing to believe they exist) a bit more disgusting than this seventh-grade sex talk, but that hasn’t ever seemed to give anyone at CNN the vapors.
