Swift Boater to shill Obama slime tome on ‘pro-white’ radio show

(UPDATE: John McCain’s handlers had to stop him from giving his opinion of the book, but he did have something to say. It’s below the fold.)

Infamous anti-Kerry discredited Swiftboater Jerome Corsi, author of the new fish wrap, The Obama Nation, is on his media tour. Is anyone out there surprised at the kind of folks he hangs out with? Media Matters:

In an appearance on the August 13 edition of CNN’s Larry King Live, after Media Matters for America Senior Fellow Paul Waldman noted that Jerome Corsi, author of The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality, had “put up on right-wing Web sites a whole series of bigoted and hateful posts,” Corsi replied that “you haven’t mentioned all my apologies for those statements.” But notwithstanding Corsi’s apologies for his comments, Corsi is reportedly scheduled to appear with host James Edwards on the August 17 edition of The Political Cesspool Radio Show, which, according to its “Statement of Principles,” “represent[s] a philosophy that is pro-White” and which “heartily endorse[s] and accept[s] as our own, the founding tenets of the Council of Conservative Citizens [CCC].” According to a Fall 2007 article in the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Report, ” ‘The Political Cesspool’ in the past two years has become the primary radio nexus of hate in America.” Corsi previously appeared on the July 20 edition of the show, in which he promoted The Obama Nation and criticized Sen. Barack Obama.

...The show’s statement also asserts that “America would not be as prosperous, ruggedly individualistic, and a land of opportunity if the founding stock were not Europeans” and that “[w]e wish to revive the White birthrate above replacement level fertility and beyond to grow the percentage of Whites in the world relative to other races.” It also states: “Secession is a right of all people and individuals. It was successful in 1776 and this show honors those who tried to make it successful in 1865.” According to the statement, Political Cesspool is also “against feminism” and “against homosexuality.”

John Kerry has set up a Web site to combat these kinds of attacks (unlike the Swift Boat crap he brushed off back in 2004)—http://www.truthfightsback.com.

Would it shock you one iota to learn that the editorial prowess behind Corsi’s book is former Darth Cheney aide and James Carville’s

sex partner

wife Mary Matalin?

The book is published by Threshold Editions, Mary Matalin’s imprint at Simon & Schuster. It “was not designed to be, and does not set out to be, a political book,” Matalin sniffed to Jim Rutenberg and Julie Bosman of the New York Times. Rather, it is “a piece of scholarship, and a good one at that.”

BTW, to add to the flavor of this wingnut, Corsi’s also a 9/11 conspiracy author. See the video below the fold.

[T]he conservative commentator’s book about Senator Barack Obama appears to have distracted him from another project he was planning in January: exposing what he calls the government’s inadequate explanations about the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.

A YouTube video making the rounds, especially among Obama supporters, mocks Mr. Corsi for a Jan. 29 interview on Alex Jones’s radio show, a forum for those who take a deeply skeptical view of government claims about the attacks. (Mr. Corsi also frequently talks about the “North American Union” and other threats from globalization during his appearances).

UPDATE: What does John McCain think of Corsi’s premium toilet paper of a book?

A reporter tried to ask McCain about a new anti-Obama book, to which McCain responded cryptically “gotta keep your sense of humor.” McCain staffer Brooke Buchanan then stretched her arms in front of her boss, saying “we’re not doing that,” and escorted reporters to the door.

The Obama camp responded:

“The old John McCain used to boast about honorable politics, while the new John McCain finds Roveian smears funny. Honor is not a laughing matter. What does John McCain think is funny about an intolerant smear artist who called Pope John Paul II senile and claims the government lied about 9/11? McCain has said he wants to run an honorable campaign, but his belief that these smears are funny makes people question whether he now approves of the same reprehensible politics used to smear his own character eight years ago,” said Obama campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor.

Don’t forget that Corsi also referred to “Chubby Chelsea,” “Hellary,” and “Mullah Ali’Gore-Ah being proud of his regulation Osama beard” when posting as “jrlc” on freerepublic.

the amount of shit these people are standing in continues to amaze.
It’s just sick- the level of sheer evil behind the rethugs.

You know, I am pretty sure Jon Stewart coined the phrase “Obama-Nation” two years ago, and it was clever and funny then.  (I think he said something like, “I wanna make this an Obamanation!”)

I saw this book at the Borders bookstore nearby, and shared the same table with all the books and paraphernalia from the Twilight series.  It was, in fact, pretty much hidden by a huge pile of Twilight t-shirts…  I was amused.

Mary Matalin about Jerome Corsi’s book (From Pam’s Post):
It “was not designed to be, and does not set out to be, a political book,” Matalin sniffed to Jim Rutenberg and Julie Bosman of the New York Times. Rather, it is “a piece of scholarship, and a good one at that.”

Jerome Corsi about Jerome Corsi’s book (From an interview with Corsi aired on NPR’s Morning Edition August 15th piece “Candidate’s Campaign Rebuts ‘The Obama Nation’):
This book is not written to be an academic book it’s an easy popular read written for the normal reader…it’s written in the context of a political campaign and it’s aimed against a candidate which is Barack Obama.

Well, which is it?

Nothin’ like bein’ consistent.  Stupid bastards.

Quite apart from everything else, Harpy Matalin wouldn’t recognize a good piece of scholarship if it bit her on the ass.

A post that mentions John Kerry, Barack Obama, smear books, racists, Freep, Twooferism, Swiftboating, and McCain?

Good gravy, the trolling that’ll probably hit this thread is going to be the ugliest thing I’ve seen in months.

I’d like to mention that the book in question is being shilled via your ads. I’m guessing the stupid Google ads figured that if we’re talking about it, we might be interested in purchasing it…

If elected it will just continue the trend of not allowing a president to speak without his handlers. I often wonder between Bush and Mccain who is the least eloquent.   They are marketing Bush and McCain quite similarly..just another good ole boy. Yeah you know your buddy could never do you any harm, and now turn your back while we screw you over.

Evil, misguided, horrible right-wing radio, which should be permanently silenced by the Fairness Doctrine (Screw the First Amendment - they are evil, so they have no rights), recognizes that Jerome Corsi is a piece of crap.

I know it’s fun to assume that your political opposition embraces everyone who disagrees with you, no matter how contemptible, but that isn’t necessarily true.

I’d like to mention that the book in question is being shilled via your ads.

Look at it this way: the ads mean that pandagon is taking Corsi’s money away from him to line the pockets of Jesse, Amanda, Pam, et. al.
