The Sky Is Still Decidedly Alight

Polling

Yesterday, the Rasmussen poll showed Obama losing three points after Palin’s speech.  Today, he gains one point after McCain’s speech.

This is good news.  For John McCain.

Clearly we’re doomed. DOOMED!

So many of the scandals that involve Palin brush on sex or at least relationships. I wonder why there’s a concerted push on some blogs—DailyKos is one—to declare such subjects off limits, because, arrrgh, O’Liely and Limpballs might get angry (I’m not kidding).  Guess we have to nix any discussion of antisemitism, then—I understand the ghost of Hitler is just steaming.

Sex is a key area to discover whether a politician can be trusted. Now that the Democratic party has a couple of candidates whose brains are apparently well-connected to their zippers, it would be a mistake not to attack on this front as well. The opposing ticket is composed of a serial adulterer and a person who, at the very least, is a demonstrated failure at walking her talk and criminally irresponsible with her family responsibilities (not for running for office when a mother—that’s a non-issue except for her own base—but for risking her unborn child for reasons still unexplained).

Palin doesn’t matter at the end of the day.

I am shocked that OBAMA didn’t gain points after Palin’s speech; it was so divisive and unnecessarily viscious towards him personally.  Didn’t Obama/Biden make something like $80 million in donations in the 24 hours after her speech?  I hope the screwy opinion poll numbers are a result of the fact (?) that they don’t call cell phones, and most young people only have cells phones.

$10 million.  While McCain made $1 Million.

Not only was Palin’s speech divisive, I just didn’t find it any good.  She clearly didn’t know what she was talking about when discussing anything policy or current events related.  She barely managed to read the teleprompter effectively.  The positive reception is a result of two things:  low expectations from the get-go and Republican talking points.
