Traditional Values Coalition: pot calling the kettle…

Holy smoke. The irony and hypocrisy meters just blew-the-f*ck up. Look at this from the

American Taliban Traditional Values Coalition’s Lou Sheldon (a big fan of John McCain, btw), is aghast that a he’s not the only game in town in the whole church-state merger deal. Imposing Christianity is saving the country, when it’s Islamic law, all of a sudden it’s dangerous.

All over the United States, radical Muslims are pushing companies to bow to Islamic law known as Sharia. They are doing this under the guise of religious freedom, but the political and cultural ideology of Islam recognizes only Allah as the supreme ruler over the world.

...What Muslims are doing has been referred to as “creeping Sharia” – that is, getting companies, communities and states to change policies in order to force everyone to obey Sharia law, a totalitarian system of regulations that govern Islamic theocracies. Caribou coffee shops and Church’s Fried Chicken are Saudi-owned companies which operate and manage their employees based on Sharia principles.

In America, creeping Sharia is to be imposed by lawsuits and claims of ethnic or religious discrimination. Examples of creeping Sharia are becoming more and more frequent as radical Muslim groups such as the CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) and Muslim Brotherhood either create conflicts between Muslim employees and their employers or exploit such conflicts.

Did I miss the whole doodad about “Christian” pharmacists not filling legal prescriptions because of their beliefs, or the civil servants out in Cali who refused to marry same sex couples because of their religious convictions? Methinks Lou has a terminal case of theocratic envy.

TVC concludes its diatribe by saying “TVC will be publishing regular updates and special reports on the goals of Islam within the United States.”

Caribou is owned by the Saudis?

Shit. Now I have no choice but to submit to Starbucks.

“Creeping Sharia”? Really? That sounds like a 1/1 creature in Magic: The Gathering.

Oh but Pam, Christianity is the one true religion, and its followers are morally obligated to do anything they can to spread Christianity in the name of Jesus. Any other religion is false and anything they do is not okay.

Methinks Lou has a terminal case of theocratic envy.

I fully agree.

If Caribou Coffee is being run with creeping Sharia principles, it’s awfully subtle. The baristas at the one next door to my office are so flirtatious and, well, clad for display that I jokingly call it the Temple of Astarte. No one there’s gotten stoned by the religious police yet.

Caribou Coffee and Church’s Chicken are both owned by Arcapita, which is based in Bahrain, not Saudi Arabia. But it’s probably too much to expect that Lou Sheldon would know the difference.

Lou, I look forward to your HUGE protest over the company that is currently asking a US federal court to decide a lawsuit under Sharia law instead of US law. I know you and the other ZOMG! MUSLIMS! commentators must in an uproar at the very thought of it.

Oh, wait—the company is a subsidiary of Blackwater. Never mind.

Doesn’t Mardel’s Bookstore and Chick Fil A “operate and manage their employees based on Christian principle”? Where is the outrage??

Although when I worked at Mardel, I DID enjoy leaving work early on Wednesday nights. I did NOT enjoy the mandatory prayer meeting before store opening every morning.

All this comes down to pure jealousy.

Our fundnuts want to be able to have public beheading and stonings, for equally grave offenses like adultery and fornication, but Libruls won’t let them.

So they’re hoping to sneak in christianist law through the backdoor while decrying “creeping sharia” at the front.

BTW, isn’t it great that these towering intellects of religious bigotry know so much about Islam, yet haven’t become suicide bombers and such?...or maybe they’re just hiding it so they can destroy our government from the inside!

The first rule of revolution is that after you’ve eliminated the obvious members/supporters of the old regime, you go after those who know too much because they can’t be trusted

I suggest we skip of the first part and start right in on the second phase: Lou Sheldon, you know things no person calling themselves an American should know. In the process of “understanding” your enemy, you’ve become too much like your enemy and are therefore a threat to be eliminated…

Is that Jean-Marie LePen’s long lost twin brother? The ressemblance (physical and moral) is uncanny.

Oh noes! Halal chicken will be the downfall of America!

”“Creeping Sharia”? Really? That sounds like a 1/1 creature in Magic: The Gathering.

YES.

Well now you’re just being mean:)

Big difference between a business OWNER taking a stand on this and employees who don’t have a dime invested attempting to bully those that do.

Christian religion, made by men based on a book of mythology, worshipping a person who may or maynot have even existed, If you want a theocracy move to the Vatican
