Seriously, he actually did this
It’s too much to hope that MSNBC will fire this asshole - unless it’s for stealing Chris Matthews’ schtick - but you might drop MSNBC a line about this anyway:
Discussing Sen. Hillary Clinton’s decision to remain in the presidential race, MSNBC senior campaign correspondent Tucker Carlson, during the May 27 edition of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, said of Clinton, “Look, she’s a trapped animal, there’s absolutely no question about it. As I’ve thought to myself many times, if you’ve ever tried to get your cat in a box, you know what Hillary Clinton is doing right now.” Carlson then imitated a screeching cat, and added, “with all four paws out, all the hair standing up? Look, she is in feral mode.” After co-host Mika Brzezinski said, “I don’t know what to say,” and guest co-host Mike Barnicle said, “Tucker Carlson, ladies and gentlemen,” Carlson asserted, “And I say that as a compliment, I admire her tenacity. I do.”
Don’t worry, he says it as a compliment. Join us next time when Tucker Carlson compares McCain favorably to a 19-year-old beagle with bladder control problems.

Carlson also supports state-sponsored terrorism against environmentalists.
Glad to see a post about Hilary Clinton’s treatment at the hands of the MSM! Thanks also for the contact information about whom to contact.
Fuck Tucker Carlson and his horrendous sexism (not to mention all the other problems).
In the not-politically-correct pejorative of my childhood, “What a retard!”
How dare you sully the Beagle’s noble line by comparing it to McCain.
“state-sponsored terrorism against environmentalists.”
Considering some of those environmentalists ARE terrorists, this is a non-issue.
Note he also said ‘everyone in the press loves [Obama]’ and that they all want [Hillary] to go home. He’s basically right about that. Most of the press doesn’t like Hillary. So give him that. He spoke some truth.
Considering some of those environmentalists ARE terrorists, this is a non-issue.
If you have evidence of terrorist activities by Greenpeace, you may want to provide it to Homeland Security. Otherwise, fuck off.
Tucker Carlson: the official Drunk Stupid Fratboy of the MSM.
That’s funny ModDem, that doesn’t jibe with my experience.
It could be a local issue though, as there is a lot of machine momentum for Hillary in the has-been states - the ones that gripe every time they lose congress members to western states due to stagnation or even out-migration.
Betsy: Fuck Tucker Carlson
Um ... you first
There are dumber pundits out there, but there is no one more useless than Bowtie Boy.
And the fact that he’s still employed by a major news network is pretty much all the proof you need that the mainstream corporate media is beyond salvaging.
Tucker Carlson: the official Drunk Stupid Fratboy of the MSM.
I’m starting to think the MSM cruises frat-houses all over the country, hold career-fairs/wet t-shirt-contests for them, and just hire the biggest stereotype they can find, once he regains consciousness, wipes the vomit from his face, and takes those panties off his head. Oh, and if their daddy dearest is on the school’s board of trustees or some influential blue-blood, then they’ll give the guy his own parking space and bowtie.
Whenever I read anything about Tucker Carlson, I always think of that Seinfeld episode where George was intentionally trying to get fired. Seriously, what does Carlson have to do? Coldcock Mike Barnicle with the Spirit of St. Louis?
Considering some of those environmentalists ARE terrorists, this is a non-issue.
Oh really? Let’s see how fucking committed you are to this premise.
Terrorists killed Americans on 9/11. Some Americans are on active duty in the military. Therefore, the twin towers were a legitimate military target.
Procenia is a human being. Some human beings are serial child molesters. Ergo, Procenia should go to jail for life.
Shall I continue?
I think some environmentalists really ARE terrorists. Why feel qualms about admitting this? I don’t see how Sophist’s examples make sense, but this statement seems pretty logical and even obvious. I can think of a few examples.
I think some environmentalists really ARE terrorists. Why feel qualms about admitting this?
Do you suppose the real problem was “Considering some of those environmentalists ARE terrorists,” or “this is a non-issue”?
(Of course, since the original article was about Greenpeace, I have a big problem with the first part too.)
Touche. I see your point. I will refrain from derailing what is a great post.
I would be comfortable putting environmental groups like Sea Shepherd and Earth First in the ‘terrorist’ slot (with the caveat that, like the Spanish ETA, they try to minimize casualties and go mainly for property damage), but that’s something on the order of 0.000001% of environmentalists. Really, discussing them like they were at all representative of anything is distorting the issue.
(wasn’t Earth First found to be nearly ALL undercover informants, some time back? I’m sure I read that somewhere).
It will be interesting to see if MSNBC has him issue a “non-apology apology”, as it is so popular to do so lately, or quietly stuff him into an obscure corner (say, 3am) for a week or so.
Versus if he were on FauxNews, he’d be replacing Billo…
Imagine for a second a progressive equivalent (ie: Left but still stupid) of Carlson. Next, leap past the ludicrousness of the notion that a progressive would have such a job. (Olbermann, warts and all, is still pretty much the only progressive voice on mainstream or cable TV who isn’t primarily a comedian; he is swimming upstream against a sea of Becks, Hannitys and the like.) Now ponder this: if that progressive Tucker made as many offensive or just plain ol’ dumb statements, would he still have a job?
To pose the question is to answer it. It also answers the question of why “Tucker Carlson still has a job”. Yes, there is wingnut welfare. But there is also wingnut loyalty and wingnut favouritism. Face it: for the media string pullers Tucker is the dumb nephew of some good buddy of theirs from Skull and Bones or some Final club at Harvard: he’s obviously an idiot and not cut out for the task, but to fire him is also to insult the dominant social group of which they are a part. That’s why they don’t do it.
Who do I contact to land a job where I can earn a paycheck acting like a jackass on the tee-vee?
Sorry, Pam- you’re not qualified, as you are not a jackass.
I would be comfortable putting environmental groups like Sea Shepherd and Earth First in the ‘terrorist’ slot (with the caveat that, like the Spanish ETA, they try to minimize casualties and go mainly for property damage)
I’m sorry, but just destroying property doesn’t terrorize me, although it might be pretty darn annoying on occasion. But you aren’t claiming that these groups are annoyancists.
This is truly insulting to cats everywhere.
Tucker Carlson, Pat Buchanan, and Joe Scarborough have been sucking up to and defending Hillary for months. I’m no Tucker fan but this is getting ridiculous. This is sexist because he compared her to a cat? Someone needs to publish the list of Allowable Things That Hillary Can Be Compared To.
@Cass: Not cats. Not animals. Other Presidential candidates, other Senators, and previous First Ladies are acceptable.
Why? Which animal do you think is okay to compare Obama to? Would it be cool with you if we compare him to that animal being stuffed into a box?
