Video break: the BarackRolling of John McCain

OMG. The tears were streaming down my face. That green and blue screens of death behind McCain at the convention have provided video editing wizards with choice material to work with.

That is so full of win I think it might explode.

I just peed a little…

THAT was priceless!

Brilliant.  Absolutely brilliant.

Too funny.  I was trying to explain rickrolling to one of the older women in my office.  She didn’t quite get why it was funny.  She’s a huge Obama supporter.  I think she’ll get it now.

I laughed so loud I scared the cat!!!!

Whose brilliant idea WAS it to make the backdrops so irresistibly ripe for image manipulation?

I mean, blue and green screens? Is the McCain Campaign staffed by devotees of SomethingAwful and 4Chan?

Comment #6: Maureen  on  09/07  at  09:10 PM

That’s some grade A magnifitude. If only all politics pisstake youtube clips were like this.

Comment #7: Rockit  on  09/07  at  09:31 PM

OMG.  This election is so much fun.  Thank you, John McCain.

Comment #8: BadKitty  on  09/07  at  09:35 PM

That was fun!

Comment #9: Samantha Vimes  on  09/07  at  09:37 PM

That’s much nicer than what I would have done with it.

Comment #10: Roxanne  on  09/07  at  09:55 PM

Usually I hope that 4chan and SomethingAwful are swallowed by a gaping maw in the earth.  But today, they have shown us the way to the Promised Land.

Comment #11: NBarnes  on  09/07  at  09:58 PM

Brilliant!

I watched McCain’s speech after watching an episode of the Colbert Report that included a green screen challenge for McCain. I thought those backgrounds were asking for it. And this is brilliant.

Comment #13: Eralk Fang  on  09/07  at  10:12 PM

That was so funny I think I’m going to hell for watching it!

Comment #14: The Angry Geologist  on  09/07  at  10:27 PM

It’s a simple 3-step process:

1.) Barack Obama is popular amongst Teh Youths, many of whom are good with computers and image manipulation. [A few are also shameless little bastards.]
2.) McCain gives a speech in front of a mostly blue and green screen
3.) Hilarity Ensues

God, that shouldn’t have been as gratifying as it was.

Comment #16: Amanda Marcotte  on  09/07  at  10:50 PM

I thought Obama was trying to Rickroll us ... there was some part of one of his speeches where I wondered if he was going to just put it all together and get it over with!

Comment #17: Ms Kate  on  09/07  at  11:19 PM

Epic Win.

Comment #18: Bruce  on  09/08  at  01:29 AM

4.) ???
5.) Profit!

Man, I’d still pay to have Obama rickroll people. It would make this election seriously awesome.

Comment #19: StarStorm  on  09/08  at  06:23 AM

I absolutely loved that…bet they Republicans will think twice about the screens they use next time.

Comment #20: Renee  on  09/08  at  01:53 PM

My sister’s boyfriend’s ring tone is the rickroll - I think he should change it to this.

Comment #21: Sara Anderson  on  09/08  at  07:42 PM

Hahaha, oh lords that’s fantastic.
