We Get It

Sports

Did you know George W. Bush is at the Olympics?  Because I was unaware until NBC brought it up every seven minutes.  I think he dunked on Yi Jianlan.

You mean he’s not being Preznitental and monitoring the Caucasus crisis from Washington?

Did Gov. Ted let you go?

Comment #2: Matt N.  on  08/10  at  09:42 PM

No, Matt.  I left voluntarily.  I’m going to law school.

It took you this long to catch on?

And this is the thread you stumbled upon?

Do you have a Google Alert set up for “George W. Bush” and “dunked”?

FUCk.  w was talking and talking and talking and talking.  then he tried to explain how intricate and complicated the situation in Georgia is.  All while talking and talking and talking.  He wouldn’t shut up!!

My 8 y/o threw a pillow at the tV and told him to shut up.  then he asked if he was allowed to do that.  I said, in the Old America, you could, but now we’ll throw you in a cell and waterboard you.

Mom got up and played the piano.  We couldn’t hear the Pretzelnit anymore and sanity was restored until the US gymnasts started bouncing out of bounds and falling.

NBC finally got their reward when GWB stopped by for a live interview.  I can’t tell you what he said however, because I immediately turned the TV off.

I think we should all be complaining to NBC about how frequently they feel the need to show Bush’s homely mug.  It’s seriously ruining any enjoyment I might have derived from the Olympics, except for the face that I really hate swimming.

His daddy’s there, too. Iirc, he attended some of the women’s individual saber fencing bouts—which the American women swept!

As a former fencer myself, I’m glad *someone* appreciates the sport. And am amazed and thrilled USians medaled at all, much less took all 3.

Women using sabers!  It was super cool, since way back in the 80s, when I took fencing, women weren’t allowed to use sabers.

Originally, women couldn’t fence at all.  Then they were allowed foils.  Then epees.  But not the saber!  heavens no!  The saber is just too brutal!  They can hit the head!  The saber is the bestest of the swords, and we can’t let girly girls get their girly girliness girl cooties all over them!!!1!11

I am most pleased to see American women sweeping the sabers.  Rock on!

Northern Virginia, I saw it live and can give this report:

Dubya was interviewed about China, the Georgia/Russia dispute and Putin, then about Sudan.

By BOB COSTAS, whi is of course so well known for his hard-hitting political and world socialistic journalism…

I can’t decide who I’m more sick of, Bob Costas or Bela Karolyi.
