Next entry: Country-western family friendly? Previous entry: Why conservatives who want more conservative shows won’t get their wish

We’re #1!

You people fucking rule.  Because of your donations, Team Pandagon won the blogger bowl-a-thon!  We brought in just over $2,300, which means that Jesse and I are contractually obliged to humiliate ourselves bowling.  He’s promised to go bowling and bowl granny style, and I have promised to bowl regular style but to post my score so you can laugh at me.  I’ll be arranging this all very soon.

Thanks so much for giving.  Seriously, a lot of women who need abortions don’t have two dimes to rub together, and your help will go directly to giving women their lives back after in unintended pregnancy.

Well, if you need some help, I generally average a 150.

$2300 is great, but I was really, really hoping to see the “Fuckin’ Magnets” t-shirt. *sigh*

Comment #2: Slackajawea  on  04/19  at  02:11 PM

Amanda, this is very important. Where are you going to get your “Fucking magnets, how do they work?” shirt from? Are such things commercially available? Or are you going to roll out the glitter and fabric paint yourself?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Comment #3: Seize  on  04/19  at  02:13 PM

Ah, I must amend to say I just realized “Fucking magnets” was the $2500 concession. Perhaps you should still consider wearing such a T-shirt to…uh…show the Juggalos (Juggloes? Juggli?) how much we love ICP’s magnum opus?

Comment #4: Seize  on  04/19  at  02:16 PM

Seize gives me an idea.  Maybe Pandagon should create a Fucking Magnets shirt on Cafe Press or something, sell them, and donate proceeds from that to NAAF.

Comment #5: Jake  on  04/19  at  02:28 PM

Jake, I’d buy one of those.

Comment #6: Ranylt  on  04/19  at  03:11 PM

Or are you going to roll out the glitter and fabric paint yourself?

Oh, please do it with a Bedazzler.  They work like magic!

Wow. I mean - Wow.

Frankly, the whole notion of forcing people to finance something as abhorrent as abortion though the federal government is appalling enough.

But actually raising money to bring about such an evil is stooping about as low as you can go.

Hath not the liberal no shame?

Comment #8: Progressive_Prince  on  04/19  at  04:06 PM

But actually raising money to bring about such an evil is stooping about as low as you can go.

As I understand it, bowling requires a lot of stooping, though not actually “as low as you can go” - that would be limbo dancing.

Given that the Catholic Church used to hold as doctrine that aborted fetuses went to Limbo, because as they couldn’t be baptised they couldn’t get to Heaven, I think sponsored limbo dancing to raise money for abortions would be extremely Catholic.

Comment #9: Jesurgislac  on  04/19  at  04:27 PM

So according to P_P, public funding of abortion may be “abhorrent,” but private funding is “as low as you can go.” It follows that all abortions should be fully publicly funded! I heartily agree.

Comment #10: nathanielperson  on  04/19  at  04:33 PM

You’re right, PP, both of those ways of funding abortions are less than ideal. So I agree with you… clearly abortions should always be available free of charge!

Comment #11: Well, what?  on  04/19  at  04:46 PM

Hath not the liberal no shame?

It’s either “hath the liberal no shame,” or “hath not the liberal shame,” you buffoon.

Missed the original thread on this, I guess, but made a donation just now.

Comment #12: Jerry Vinokurov  on  04/19  at  05:01 PM

The magnets T-shirt seems like it could be its own fundraiser.

Comment #13: John Rove  on  04/19  at  05:46 PM

That Progressive pretends to think it’s shocking that a pro-choice person would think access to abortion is important shows how little relationship to good faith arguments conservatives have.

Hells no. I try to have as many abortions as possible. I’m looking to make a world record. So far, I’m up to 30. Hey it’s fun!

Comment #15: pitbullgirl65  on  04/19  at  06:25 PM

Whoo hoo!!!
I can’t wait for the pics!
:D

Damn, if I had money, I’d donate it in Progressive_Prince’s name and enough to get you to make the Fucking Magnets t-shirt.

Comment #17: Samantha Vimes  on  04/20  at  01:06 AM

Yeah, I’m in the “no money” boat right now. Too bad I missed this one, as I would have loved to see the shirt. ‘Cause those fuckin’ magnets, man. It’s like magic!

Comment #18: Matthew, Patron Saint of Affogato  on  04/20  at  02:47 AM

Not much of a Sarah Silverman fan, but I’m reminded of her joke “I want to have an abortion, but my boyfriend and I are having trouble conceiving..”

Comment #19: Dan Watson  on  04/20  at  04:43 AM

I would lov to get an abortion myself but I had a vasectomy

Comment #20: John Rove  on  04/20  at  10:54 AM

I think Comments 20 and 22 are a couple of threads late.
