What To Look Forward To

McCain is using Obama’s website.

McCain is looking to put Fauxbama on his ticket.

Word’s coming down that he’s trying to pay off his minister to put up a YouTube video of him saying “Fuck Jesus” to the beat of the Notorioius B.I.G.‘s “Get Money”.  We’ll let you know how this progresses.

Oh please oh please oh please.  Because the Illinois Republican Party deciding that a Republican minority and a Democratic minority are exactly the same thing so you may as well choose the Republican is what gave Obama 70 percent of the vote in Illinois (including 49 percent of Republicans).

OMG, my dad’s racist Republican head will explode off his shoulders!

Comment #2: louise  on  06/05  at  05:05 PM

YOu know, somehow I don’t think a conservative of Indian descent will do much to split the back vote with Obama

It is if you think all people that aren’t white “look the same.”

I wonder whose dumbass idea this was…

Must have been Whitey. That guy’s not too swift.

Comment #5: Steve LaBonne  on  06/05  at  05:40 PM

Guy looks young enough to be one of McCain’s grandkid’s friends. The Experience ticket, indeed.

And I’m sure that will make th wingnuts happy since they just dig the minorities. Especially the ones who take jobs that should rightly go to white folk.

I would have my faith restored in the system if we had Obama Democrats and Jindal Republicans.  If McManiac asks him, he should decline.  He’d have a better chance in ‘12 when this religious conservatism fad should be over.

“YOu know, somehow I don’t think a conservative of Indian descent will do much to split the back vote with Obama”

Jindal got something like 9% of the black vote in all of his Louisiana campaigns…haha.  But one thing to note is that in the upstate areas he did worse than he should’ve among white voters.

“And I’m sure that will make th wingnuts happy since they just dig the minorities. Especially the ones who take jobs that should rightly go to white folk.”

Actually, Asian/Indian minorities often are picked for jobs, colleges, etc. through REVERSE affirmative action because they are OVER-represented.

Upstate LA aside, the GOP is probably most open to persons of Indian descent because they are the most conservative minority.  They’ve promoted Dinesh D’Souza to a chief wingnut position, for one.

This is just too hilarious to watch. This must be the first time since the 60s where a Republican candidate is trying really, really really hard to be more like the Democrat.

I miss the old McCain website. I thought it was really impressive that he’d gotten Grand Moff Tarkin to design it for him.

Comment #10: pillsy  on  06/05  at  08:02 PM

Oh, Lord.  That would be the funniest thing EVER if Grandpa McSame picked Jindal.

“Gift for oratory?”  “GIFT FOR ORATORY?”  I think Jindal is probably a smart guy and all; he seems to have been very informed and competent, if way too supply-side for my tastes, in his restructuring of the Louisiana health-care system, but GIFT?  For ORATORY?

Not so much.

Comment #11: JupiterPluvius  on  06/05  at  09:05 PM

Picking Jindal would also undermine the “experience” argument since your VP pick better be at least as well experienced as you are if you go that route given he could inherit the job in a split second at a time of great national crisis—made even more necessary by McCain’s age.

Jindal has about the same level of experience as Obama.

Jupiter, I, too, don’t get the “oratory” stuff. I live in Virginia butt from my limited exposure to Jindy he sounds like a standard (if more intelligent) southern Republican.

Comment #12: Ben D.  on  06/05  at  09:23 PM

But… but… but…. who will the racist asshats vote for if there’s a brown person on the Republican ticket, too?

Comment #13: BadKitty  on  06/05  at  09:48 PM

Well, to be fair, when you put Jindal up against “orators” like W and McCain, he sounds like William Jennings Bryan in comparison.

Compared to actual competent orators?  Uh, no.  And he would have his ass handed to him if put up against a genuinely gifted speaker like Obama.

Comment #14: Mnemosyne  on  06/05  at  09:51 PM

McCain is so damn desperate he doesn’t mind looking like an idiot: he borrows and twists Obama’s slogan but but McCain is not, in any significant way, a change from what we endure now.

What a delicious problem you raise bad Kitty!  I imagine they will just stay home.

“Gift of oratory”?  Oh, why did Chris Rock’s “He speaks so well!” rant just start playing in my head?

What they mean is, he doesn’t talk like one of those damn dirty street n*ggers, which is what you are apparently supposed to expect from anyone with dark skin.

Republicans give me high blood pressure.

Comment #19: spencer  on  06/06  at  03:40 PM

I hear he’s going to start saying ‘yes we could!’.  It’s sooo subtle, nobody will notice how similar it is to Obama’s slogan.

Now, now.  I’m sure that a significant percentage of them expect Jindal to sound like Apu from “The Simpsons” every time he speaks, and they’re so surprised to hear he sounds like a “real” American that they grant him eloquence points.
