Your Roots Are Showing

I think you could write an article that serves as better wingnut bait than Jake Tapper’s “The Emergence of President Obama’s Muslim Roots”, but I’m pretty sure that the article would have to involve a bunch of white toddlers being pushed off of a cliff in a repossessed Pontiac Aztek onto an evangelical church by Sasha and Malia.  And I’m pretty sure that Obama’s Kenyan birth certificate would have to be in the Aztek.

I think this is a suppressed picture of Obama and Osama that’s just come to light.  Why oh why didn’t we listen to our fine Republican leadership and vote for that nice McCain man and and that nice Palin woman?...

BTW, I heard that Obama worte a book called To Serve Christians.  I wonder what it’s about…

They weren’t sure he was a muslim until he took his wife out for a night on the town in Manhattan.  Only then were they sure.

Well, it is Jake Tapper. He’s been angling for a Fox News show for years.

He actually wrote me a while back after I mentioned him on my blog. He was unhappy because I’d identified him as a newspaper columnist. He’s a television correspondent. He didn’t seem to object to my opinion that he should be put in a rocket and shot into the sun, though…

Most of the recipes are pretty basic, nothing too special.

Wow. That speaks volumes about Tapper’s view of journalism, none of it good.

I will say that he’s found an appropriate berth at ABC—I haven’t watched their news broadcasts once since entertainment side aired “The Path to 9/11” (AKA “Path to Propaganda”), and very infrequently since Jennings died. To be honest, American TV news is useless in general, but ABC ranks just ahead of Faux with me in terms of credibility.

Obama told Israel to stop building settlements in the West Bank and Gaza, so this is the reaction.

Who in the world would criticize Israel for anything unless they were anti-Semites?

Wait, religious affiliation is genetic?

Mr. Tapper and Ms. Miller’s argument that Mr. Obama’s being correct that the Republicans’ emphasis on his middle name was a dogwhistle to the folks who believe all Muslims are terrorists is a particularly elegant touch.

I hear Muslim terrorists live under the beds of white Christian American children.  And if you say “Hussein Hussein Hussein” in front of a mirror in a dark room President Obama will jump through the mirror and eat all your favorite internal organs.

From the looks of all those congregation-created cookbooks that I’ve seen proffered as fund raisers, there is bound to be some jello and canned meat involved.

Comment #9: Ms Kate  on  06/03  at  02:07 PM

canned meat involved.

That would be the white toddlers in the Aztek, naturally.

Comment #10: liminalist  on  06/03  at  03:51 PM

Toddlers- the other white meat.

I got this e-mail yesterday from a “public interest watchdog group.” It’s so bizarre I’ve been itching to share, and this seems just the thread for it.

Giant blockquote to follow:

(Washington, D.C., June 2, 2009). Today, Larry Klayman, founder of Freedom Watch, the public interest watchdog that promotes and protects individual liberties and freedom, urged aviation and government authorities, including those in the United States, to conduct a thorough investigation of the apparent exploasion of Air France 447, which has mysteriously disappeared over the Atlantic during a flight from Brazil.
“President Obama is scheduled soon to visit Cairo, Egypt to again ‘bow down’ to Muslim leaders, of which he is also proudly one, by half, to express his desire for closer U.S. relations to the Arab world. Conversely, the President has been pressuring Israel to forget about its security and give the West Bank to the Palestinians as a so-called ‘Second State Solution’.
Once upon a time, in the years leading up to World War II, another world leader had a ‘Jewish Solution,’ which resulted in the death of over 6 million persons
. While Obama is no Hitler, his overtures to Arab states, which for centuries have pledged the destruction of the Jewish people, and are hostile as well to Christians, are more than troubling, given his having recently bowed down to the totalitarian King of Saudi Arabia and proudly declared his half Muslim heritage during a speech in Turkey.
In this context, it is important for the Obama administration and other world aviation investigative authorities to do a thorough and honest investigation of the disappearance of Air France Flight 447, which must have blown up into many small pieces, given the inability of global tracking satellites to thus far affirmatively locate the downed plane.
The President of France, in contrast to Obama, is half Jewish. France’s Sarkozy is a conservative leader who has been on much friendlier terms with Israel than his predecessors and who has a kinship with the Jewish state. Thus, there is a motive for a possible Arab terrorist attack; to warn France and Europe not to support Israel as Obama pulls the U.S. closer to Arab and Palestinian interests.
While this connection is not yet proven; it is plausible and thus the Obama administration and other government authorities should come clean if investigative facts bear this out, and not cover this tragedy up just to protect Arab interests Obama so desperately is courting, including Hamas and Hebollah, in order to further his ‘Two State Jewish Solution’. Israeli security is American security and freedom. Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, our fierce ally, and the only one who shares our Judeo-Christian values, which do not advocate killing the ‘infidels’ but instead protecting human life as sacred,’” stated Klayman.

Boy, howdy.

From the same group’s website:

FREEDOM WATCH ALIEN WATCH STRIKE FORCE– There is much evidence that our country has been visited from time to time from “persons” from other solar systems and galaxies. But the government does not want to reveal what it knows about this. Great Britain, on the other hand, has come clean with evidence of extraterrestrial visits. It is important for our citizens to know the truth so we can prepare for the day when this openly occurs, to prevent worldwide panic.

Ahem.

Comment #13: HooksInMyHead  on  06/03  at  06:35 PM

But they also sent me an e-mail decrying racist attacks on Sotomayor and saying she’s not that bad and the president deserves his pick. Kind of hard to pin down.

Comment #14: chingona  on  06/03  at  06:54 PM

“In the image of John Adams, our second and one of our finest presidents, without ethics, morality and religion there will be no lasting freedom. Using these principles, President Ronald Reagan, centuries later, took on the “evil empire” of the Soviet Union and established some freedom even in that communist state. He restored pride and vision to this country in the process.”

Not so difficult, but this group is another that tries to obfuscate its actual goals by presenting “rational” arguments. Stating that the president has a right to choose any qualified nominee he damn well pleases does not automatically make Klayman in any way progressive. Take a look at the website (and around at critisism) and it will become apparent that while he tends to stay away from overt racism and is critical of the repugs he is still high on the wingnut scale.

Comment #15: HooksInMyHead  on  06/03  at  07:36 PM

Uh ... I wasn’t seriously suggesting he was progressive or even a rational conservative. Just having fun. You don’t need to convince me of anything. Frankly, I’m a little insulted you think I’m being duped or something, but I’m going to let it slide.

Wow. Talk about stiff upper lip.

I asked my UK girlfriend about it, and she said, “Oh God, yes, we all know about it over here. We had lesbians on telly decades before you lot, too.”

I love her.

Comment #17: Yamara  on  06/04  at  02:03 AM

Sorry chingona!

I did not mean to imply that you were being duped or are susceptible to this kind of wingnut chicanery. Nor did I think there was any indication that you believed Klayman or his organization to be progressive. I just get sick of groups that try to make their messages appealing to people using deception and manipulation.

Mea culpa.
